"My provider Megan wood is amazing, caring, actually listens to my concerns and thoroughly answers any questions I have so my low rating is not at all a reflection on the quality of care Megan provides. The reason for the low rating is because of certain members of the office staff. One time my provider raised my dose of a certain medication and somehow it got send in wrong to the pharmacy as once a day instead of twice. So I message her and she said to take it twice a day as she prescribed and she will refill it once I run out. So a day before I run out I call the front desk and inform them and the lady who answered the phone just kept telling me that it says it was filled 15 days ago so they couldn’t refill it yet (mind you this was the secretary who is saying this not my doctor) and I kept trying to explain to her what happened. She then tried to tell me I was wrong about what dose I was supposed to be taking and that my provider must have switched it to once a day since she raised my dose which makes no sense why she would take me from 20 twice a day to 30 once a day when I would be taking less. I told her she was wrong and then she got angry at me and continued to tell me I was wrong and they couldn’t fill it so finally I was just like “can you just please ask my actual doctor” and she went “fine” and then HUNG UP ON ME!! Then she calls me back 15 minutes later and was like “um so you were right about the medication it’s for twice a day” and she sounded so annoyed that she had to call me back and say that and didn’t even apologize. I have never experienced anything so rude. Then another time the same lady answered the phone when I called to reschedule an appointment I accidentally missed and told me I couldn’t get an appointment till 4 months later and I was almost out of meds. When I told her this she was like “sorry your just gonna have to deal” like excuse me???? This was after she had me on hold for 20 minutes picked up the phone told me to hold again and then kept me on for 20 more minutes then hung up on me and when I called back she picked the phone up immediately meaning she just forgot she had me on hold. I ended up messaging Megan and she sent in refills thank god. Now I’m trying to get my meds filled that I ran out of yesterday and they wouldn’t fill them bc it was a weekend and I called at 9 In the morning And she said she would message her but I haven’t heard back cents so I called again at 2:30 and she basically told me that she could message her again but she’s up to 48 hours to fill my meds so I’m gonna have to wait. So basically what you’re telling me is that they’re allowed to just make me go three days without my Pain meds that I would literally withdrawal off of as well as My ADHD meds. I’m so frustrated bc this is not the first time I’ve had to go without meds because of the office staff refusing to communicate with my provider. Even if they did have 48 hours I sent him the refill request four days ago. Again this is not a reflection on my provider Who is great and always works with me. This is because their office staff is lazy and would rather just shame me and accuse me of lying to get more meds instead of just messaging my freaking doctor. I never leave bad reviews or really even reviews in general but I’m just so sick of this. Edit: Now they are accusing me of missing another appointment that I don’t remember making and wasn’t on MyChart and saying they are going to terminate me as a patient. Good to know they’ll just kick someone out who is on multiple medications over a missed appt that I don’t even think I made. When I called to get my meds refilled (which the same thing happened as last time again) I was told I needed to schedule an appt and this was BEFORE the supposed appt I had and was scheduled for September which is 2 months from when I made the appt. Why would I need an appt in September when I already had one?? When I kept saying “it wasn’t on MyChart” she just kept responding with “all appointments are on MyChart” yeah well not this one."
"My parents and siblings (as well as myself) typically come here for check ups and health. We are usually with Dr. small and he is fantastic! (just in very high demand so it is hard to make an appointment with him- great problem to have!) I recently met with Mark Lamos for the first time. He had a cancellation and was able to get me in. All staff is incredible! But, I especially enjoyed Dr. Lamos. He felt like a friend or family, even after just meeting him once. As a 22 year old girl who just graduated college, life can be chaotic, making it hard to prioritize health! He was so great at making me feel comfy but also addressing anything I genuinely need to work on to be healthier! He is excellent! He will make you smile, feel comfy and happy to be there! I am so grateful I got to meet with him! Thank you Dr. Lamos for making me feel seen and cared for!"
"I really like my primary care provider, Megan Wood, but the office certainly has issues. I called them over a month ago to get an appointment for annual check up, which in the past has been initiated by the provider's office, and to transfer a prescription from a specialist to her (allopurinol, nothing crazy, and she's mentioned this in the past). There was no answer so I left a message, I never heard back from them. I followed up today, with 10 days left on my current rx, and they can't see me for a month and a half. They won't even consider looking at the prescription until I have an in-office visit. What good is a great provider if you can't access them in a reasonable time?"
"My husband is a patient of Dr. Shen likes her very much. Having attended an appointment with him recently, I understand why. She is patient, asks questions and listens to his answers before making a decision regarding his care and treatment. This is rare when so often the doctor is busy entering information on the computer during the medical visit. Kudos Dr. Shen!"
"The fact that I’m wasting time writing this review would be indicative to anyone that knows me what a terrible experience it must’ve been. For starters, I called on a Friday at approximately 1:30 PM to schedule an appointment because I was experiencing slight chest tightness, which could be attributed to a side effect from a medication I am currently prescribed. I explained to the receptionist that since my dosage was increased, I had experienced a strange intermittent pressure under my left shoulder blade that worsened with exercise. She then “scheduled” me for an appointment the following Monday at 2 PM. I arrived 15 minutes early to check in, when I was told that I had missed my appointment. I had been scheduled for Friday at 2 PM. I responded, “Well that’s funny, because I called on Friday at 1:30 PM,” which the receptionist verified. “Why would I call a half hour before the appointment I was attempting to schedule?,” I responded. She told me that she wasn’t the person that scheduled it, but she would see if they could fit me in. They could not. Apparently, I would have to come in another day because the administrative staff is so worthless and incompetent they didn’t retain the difference between Friday and Monday when they were taught it in kindergarten. At this point, I was very annoyed but shrugged it off after voicing my displeasure. I live and work in the city and had already left work early and driven 30 minutes to make this appointment. I explained to the receptionist that I would like to try another medication because I had read that this is a common side effect and as an avid runner, this wouldn’t work for me. She told me that she would speak to the doctor and give me a call back when she had an answer. Approximately 20 minutes later, as I was driving home, I received a call from the receptionist saying that the doctor had called in a prescription for the new medication at my pharmacy of choice. Knowing that the medication would probably take a bit of time, I ran a few errands and went to pick up the new medication. Once I arrived the pharmacist explained to me that they had not received anything from the office. I called the office and was told that they had never called in the prescription. No, this is not an episode of “The Twilight Zone.” Understandably, I was quite a bit annoyed at this point and explained to Idiot #2 how unprofessionally this was handled and what a waste of my time the afternoon had become. I was never given an apology and it was pretty much shrugged off as my problem by the window licking halfwit on the other line. I have never had an issue with my doctor, but this is not the only time I have been thoroughly inconvenienced by this office. I have already scheduled an appointment with a new physician and will never step foot in this place again. As a business owner, I know that good help is hard to find, but finding help that can differentiate between Friday and Monday or whether or not a prescription has been sent is not."
