Elm & Maple by Traverse Commons

"Need to specify this review is for Maple Campus View, not Elm. The apartment company doesn't offer physical tours for whatever reason, at least for Maple. I rented a 2 bedroom 1 bath at Maple and was under the impression it would be up to date and well kept. Unfortunately I was mistaken. While the units have been refreshed within the past 10-15 years, the buildings are very beat up and dirty. The hallway can barely fit two people, let alone allow you to move your belongings in easily. There's a reason they won't show you pictures of Maple on their website. Management also doesn't enforce the no smoking regulations at Maple, as the tenants in my building continue to smoke despite multiple reports. The maintenance team even did unit inspections and these people didn't get in trouble for smoking. My unit also came with faulty smoke detectors. Honestly I should've called the code office and reported them for that. As for management themselves, I have had no bad experiences besides dealing with smoking neighbors. I give 3 stars for this reason. Management is awesome but I think they need to do better when advertising this place. The maintenance team is also top notch and responds promptly to maintenance requests. To conclude, if you are going to rent from Traverse Commons, rent from Elm or Aspen, NOT Maple."

"I’ve been living at Elm by Traverse Commons since the beginning of this semester and so far I love it! It’s a great first apartment with nice spacious bedrooms and not to mention the walk in closets and private bathrooms! It definitely feels like home away from home. Elm comes with all amenities and is nice that you don’t have to pay for laundry. My roommates and I also like to utilize the pool and sand volleyball when it is nice outside."

"I have been living here for a few months now, I love it! They have great amenities especially for students where we can relax and get our work done! Whenever I have a maintenance request it is taken care of within 48 hours so that alleviates stress! If you are looking for a place to live that’s affordable and closer to campus definitely tour this apartment complex!"

"I have been living at Traverse Commons since the start of this academic year. I have nothing but good things to say about this community. The people living here are nice, the people working here are helpful and insightful, the facilities are awesome. It has been an overall 10/10 experience. Being a college student it can be rough money wise so living in an affordable yet still nice place is awesome and that's exactly what traverse commons provides. It is close in distance to everything that most people would need to use. Overall, wonderful place to live and I am glad this is where I choose to call home."

"I would describe my experience living here as a nightmare. In 2022 we moved in and the place was trashed. Once again, I’ll let the pics speak for themselves. Aside to cleaning filth and fecal matter off the wall there were simple fixes that needed attending to, that a normal landlord would address and all we got was “Sorry, there’s nothing we can do.” I posted this review prior and the complex reached out and begged us to take down for a $100 gift card. I am reposting because they are now trying to charge us for the damages we had to move into and asked them several times to fix. Please let this post serve as a warning and run away as fast as you can."
