"I have four boys and have been to multiple pediatricians over the years due to moving and insurance changes. This practice is by far the best practice I have ever been to. My children are highly anxious of the doctor in general and love Dr. Cervenka. They will actually agree voluntarily to get a shot after he explains it to them. I am baffled by the negative reviews posted here. The only thing I can imagine is that they took place during COVID which was a difficult time for everyone. One time my husband scheduled and came at the appointment time and was told he missed his appointment which another review mentioned. Also it can be a bit difficult to get through to them. Otherwise , they are above and beyond in every way . The pa mentioned was excellent every time we used her and we are happy to use any of the providers ."
"Our children have been patients here since birth. Dr. Winkelstein is absolutely wonderful with us and the kiddos, she's engaging and keeps them focused during appointments. Our daughter also had a scary metabolic issue until age 5 and she called us throughout every hospital stay and made sure to stay in contact with the attendings at each visit. We really couldn't have asked for more. We also just had a sick visit with Dr. Donahoo, who was also wonderful. I always recommend them to anyone who asks for a pediatrician!"
"I am leaving a review because from the start, my daughter has had a wonderful experience with her doctor. More recently, we needed to contact the on-call physician, Molly. She was fantastic and really helped us with a frustrating problem while also helping us keep our cool. Thank you to everyone at MPG!"
"I want to start by saying I have previously been a patient here my whole life (I am 22). My experiences here were great with the exception of the past year. My first unpleasant experience was when I called the office to get a same day appointment about two months ago and was told I could not get an appointment if I could not be at their facility in 30 minutes. I explained how I was at my boyfriends about 50 minutes away but I could get in my car and be there as soon as possible. I was told that was not good enough and would have to call while driving when I was about 30 minutes away. I ended up going to a local patient first instead. My second and most recent horrible experience was on Tuesday December 14th. I called to simply get a referral to a GI specialist. The women and manager Judy was extremely rude, unprofessional and disrespectful. She looked up my information and claimed I was “an inactive patient”. She told me first because I had not received a physical there in over two years & then she told me it was because I was overaged to come to this facility. When I asked for clarification on which reason deemed me “an inactive patient” after I pointed out to her that the age limit for their services are 25 and I am 22 and it was my plan to stick with their services until I was 25 - this is when she got even more rude and hostile. She quickly repeated that I had not had a psychical in over two years and that’s why I was inactive, while ignoring my question. Next, I asked if that included telehealth visits because I had one back in October with a nurse practitioner. She said they did include telehealth visits but there was none on record. I explained to her that it was definitely a meeting with their facility and I would try to find documentation in my email. Then Ms. Judy decided that would be a nice time to tell me that she didn’t have time because her sick line was very busy and that she would have to call me back later that day after speaking with another officer manager and that I should call someone else to get a referral. Keep in mind this was after I waited 20 minutes to speak to her - so I know that you are busy because I was one of those people on the line. Surprise no one from that office or judy herself has called back yet. I understand this facility may be understaffed or underpaid but that does not excuse the unprofessional and rude customer service especially when working in the health care industry directly with individuals who may be experiencing health difficulties. I am deeply saddened I have to leave such a horrible review I loved going here as a child. Now I am in the process of switching primary care providers. I would not recommend going here."
"I wanted to take the time and leave a review as a way to provide feedback to the Maryland Pediatric Group. The level of care that my toddler receives from Doctor Garza, the nurses, and physician assistant is truly superb. I cannot thank the medical staff enough for their kindness and truly taking the time to get to know their patients, it’s refreshing! With that being said, I would like to address the front office staff who has, on more than one occasion, proven to be this practice’s weakest link. Not once but twice has my one year old had her appointment changed without any notice once so ever. My wife and I maintain separate calendars for our child’s appointments and both had the same time scheduled. When we arrived, both times the staff informed us of a miscommunication and told us that our appointment time has passed. Now if this were to happen one time, I can understand how two separate people may have misheard but for it to happen again is absolutely beyond me. If you modify any patient’s appointment by 15 minutes or more, call them. If for some reason you cannot, enable an automated system to text your patients to share the changes or provide a reminder. For some reason this happens to be a common occurrence and it is beyond frustrating. Make the front office staff accountable for such actions as they are the reason why this practice did not receive a five star review."
