"Very nice place to live. Spacious condos, carpeting. Balcony for summertime seating, clean and quiet. I would live here myself."
"This is the best place I've ever lived. Everything works like it should, the property is beautiful and it's quiet. Bekki, the property manger is amazing. She is on top of all 200 units and makes sure anything that isn't working is fixed asap. She even made sure my kitchen was updated to the more modern style before I moved in. She truly wants everyone to feel at home in their home. Not only are the units well-maintained, but the grounds are too. The grass is cut every week during the warm months and I've even seen people killing the weeds growing in the parking lot. The apartments aren't technically sound proof, but were built so that you rarely hear any noise from other units. I can't see myself leaving any time soon."
"This was a great place to live; I recently took up work on the opposite side of the county, so I unfortunately had to move. Bekki McCune, the property manager, was wonderful to deal with and the apartments were pretty nice. Bekki was pretty good about having everything fixed and updated in between tenants (including me, on relatively-short notice for moving in). Also, having a lot of parking available was pretty nice. Smokey Wood Drive is really close to the Wilkinsburg exit to 376, and are a short drive away from the Waterfront, Shadyside, Squirrel Hill South, and Regent Square (along with Frick Park!). East Liberty/Bakery Square were maybe a 20-minute drive away when it wasn't rush hour. When I had guests over, they were always shocked at how close I was to everything on the East Side of the Pittsburgh area. Oh, and there's an Aldi 10 minutes away in Forest Hills. Tenants were really mixed in what they did for a living and where they came from. I'm a software engineer, my neighbor next door was an electrician and general contractor, so on so forth. Some families lived here too. The only nitpick I'd give is laundry; but there's a laundromat down towards Forest Hills called Wash Monster (near Thai Terrace) that has a lot of machines. So I'd usually do laundry there if I had more than one or two loads. A bit pricier but you'd save a lot of time and effort. I'd probably still be living here if I was working in the East Side of the region. I'm living in a really nice place now, too, but there's something to be said for the well-rounded value, convenience, and quality of life I had here. Would recommend highly!"
"After 6 months of living at The Forest, I am very satisfied that I made the choice to move here. First, the apartments are moderately priced, especially in consideration to the space and condition. Second, they are convenient to every single attraction Pittsburgh has to offer including food, entertainment, shopping, and the city itself and all its notable suburbs. The property is clean and well kept, and I'm surprised and pleased that it is so peaceful here, especially at night. Finally, the property manager works very hard to move her property in a positive direction. It's not often you find someone so vested in their job, but she takes a keen interest in her community which benefits us as residents. When I originally rented, I told my friends and family that the apartments were just regular, probably a B if I were grading. After receiving my updated apartment and experiencing the lifestyle and service, I'd easily give it an A. Very glad I found this hidden away gem."
"Wonderful place to live! Bekki, the new landlord at The Forest, is absolutely wonderful to work with. The previous landlords weren't as wonderful and hardly ever were available for questions. Landscaping wasn't always done in the winter, but with Bekki there, things are getting done in a timely and safe manner and questions are answered quickly. Our A/C wasn't working properly and it was fixed within 24 hours after the ticket was put in. Wonderful place!"
