"Impossible to reach, poor communication efforts on their part for order updates and just pure lack of initiative to help a customer (literally spend money). Plus, the rest of the BB store has the same problem. Look a sales associate in the eye to get help or ask a question and they run away. Maybe that’s a Gen Y/Z thing. Good luck staying in business."
"This is an easy one! When you schedule an in home appointment at the store based on the recommendation of the rep; he sends you a calendar invitation at that moment with the date and time; and he fails to show up or even call to acknowledge the screwup, you certainly earned this one. Don't waste your time thinking this Magnolia store wants to earn your business. If I thought zero stars would register, they would get that."
"I had a decent initial experience with the Magnolia design center, but when it came time for them to deliver, they failed in a big way. I purchased a TV from one location and then drove to the Springfield location to pick it up. They weren't able to give it to me that night, so I asked for them to hold onto it for two days. When I returned to pick up the TV I had already paid for, they told me they couldn't find it anywhere in the store. I had the serial number and everything and it was the last unit they would have for a while. That was the exact reason I paid in advance and asked them to hold onto it. When I asked them to make it right, they said there wasn't anything they could do. They offered to sell me a lower quality TV and nothing else. Moral of the story is, don't trust them to stick to their word when they promise something that can't be immediately delivered. They don't have the resources or the capacity. Go in there expecting to be disappointed and you'll walk out with all of your expectations met!"
"Cannot recommend -- overpriced, overcomplicated, under responsive. We were doing a whole house renovation and wanted to get expert help to design the audio and wire it for internet and audio. We were expecting to pay a premium but also expected premium service; definitely got the premium price! Not so much on the service. The “designer” guy was really just a salesman. He was indifferent about where to put the ethernet ports and speaker locations, so we ended up with mistakes, including an extra hole to the outside for a speaker we didn’t want. He was late with the estimate on cost and we wanted to get it done with the walls and ceilings open. They were due to close the next day by the time the estimate arrived. It’s a very long story, but in the end we paid literally three times as much to have the house wired as we paid to have our previous, twice as big house, wired the same way. In addition, the equipment estimate he came up with (this was “mid” not high end) was over $50,000! I got rid of them and went to Crutchfield, where I finished the project for around $12,000, which included speaker and TV installation. It would have been even less, but Magnolia chose the most complicated route for wiring, even on short runs of 20’, not really for any reason. I won’t give them the worst rating because the guys who pulled the cable we very professional and friendly. It’s just the salesman you have to watch out for. I recommend Crutchfield and if you don’t want to install yourself (like me) try to hire the Magnolia guys on the side, if they’re available."
"I consulted with them to have a whole house electronic install on a property I am building. They were nice enough and even met me at the property to survey the situation. The main objective seems to be to get the customer to leave a "refundable" deposit on the project even though a thorough proposal has not been given. The proposal I got had thousands of dollars labeled "miscellaneous" and had few if any model numbers specified and a whole lot of extras thrown in that I had never requested. Although they were always pleasant, they were unwilling to give me a proper proposal on what I wanted and so I decided to go elsewhere. They have a decent speaker room to listen to equipment before you buy it at the Springfield location."
