"Dr. Ng is my oncologist and my mom's surgeon at the Univ Of Maryland. He is an excellent doctor and surgeon. My first appointment, he clearly diagramed and explained the possible types of tumor I may have had. As I awaited my test results, he returned my calls within minutes of my reporting change in my condition and gave me his cell phone number. When my mother was admitted for emergency hip replacement surgery, I was pleasantly surprised that Dr. Ng was the surgeon. He spent the time to explain all the surgical options to my mother and ensured successful post-surgery. He did a wonderful job of reconstructing her knee. She is in her mid-80s, yet her recovery was quick he even alleviating her back pain."
"My daughter had surgery with Dr. Ng summer/fall of 2020. We really liked Dr. Ng and highly recommend him. He was very compassionate and caring. However the staff was uncommunicative and difficult to get ahold of. There was a lot of miscommunication and my child’s own pediatrician couldn’t get ahold of the doctor in order to personally talk to him. The staff arranged for my daughter to get a covid shot at a drive through clinic before surgery and when we arrived, early, the clinic was closed. I tried calling Dr. Ng’s office but the lines were busy so I had to problem solve myself. I had some pre surgery question for him and his staff informed me a nurse could call me- I said no, I would like to talk to the doctor who has the scalpel in his hand over my child. After going back and forth his staff finally had Dr. Ng call me. I’m sure he is busy but his staff does not do a good job of organizing his time and appointments. Difficult office to work with."
"I was referred to Dr Ng after my orthopedic doctor found a lesion on my right fibula. When I initially met with him I had a small amount of discomfort in the area. I started seeing him close to the end of January. After a short amount of time the ache turned into pain. My husband called and it took two days for his nurse to call back. I said something about it and she was quick to inform me that their office has a twenty four hour turn around and that i signed paperwork at my first visit that included the “turn around time” Dr. Ng ordered Tramadol and it was completely un affective. It did nothing. I called back and he called Gabapentin into my pharmacy without even talking to me. I won’t take Gabapentin so I called my pharmacy and told them to put it back. I called back again because I just kept getting worse (now I can’t sleep for more than an hour or two without waking up in pain). His nurse made sure to inform me of the twenty four hour turn around every time I spoke to her. He finally did order lidocaine patches and Oxycodone 5mg every 8 hours. This didn’t control my pain, but was better than nothing at all. Dr Ng ordered a biopsy of the lesion and the nurse at University of Maryland hospital talked to me. I told her about my pain and what he ordered for it. She said that isn’t enough and asked me if I wanted her to call his office. She did call and his nurse called me back (she was clearly not happy that the UMMC nurse called her). TWENTY FOUR hours later he put a new order in for Oxycodone 5mg every six hours. There was nothing but miss communication, and a total lack of compassion for my pain!! My biopsy came back as metastatic carcinoma and I’m starting treatment with a cancer center next week. I asked Dr Ng’s office to send over all medical records (after filling out a release of information). They sent over a referral??? The cancer center totally took over, called Dr Ng’s office and told them to send what was asked for. I was so thankful that I didn’t have to talk to his office. I would never recommend Dr Ng to anyone. He needs to clean house and get rid of the twenty four hour B/S. When you are in pain. That is an eternity!!! I will be calling patient advocacy and reporting the way I was treated. They acted like I was a drug seeker and I don’t appreciate that one bit. STEER CLEAR! If I could give them 0 stars, I would"
"Dr. Ng removed a small soft tissue sarcoma tumor from my wrist. The surgery went well but there were some healing complications that came later. He is a young doctor but I consider him a brilliant surgeon whom genuinely cares about sarcoma cancer and doing all he can to cure or control it. I highly recommend him!"
