"NEW REVIEW: I have been provided outstanding care and customer service over the last 2 years. I had a very shaky start, though. Nonetheless, EVERYONE at Medoville has been absolutely fantastic and I am grateful and lucky to have hung in after a rocky start. This is a good, sincere and capable group of people that are truly interested in helping. OLD REVIEW: I purchased a bipap machine (Resmed) in November from Medoville. Everything seems fine at first. Then I started reading my nightly results and saw that I was having 40-60 apneas per hour. Clearly the machine was not functioning properly. However, I had to wait several days for the "diagnostic machine" to be transported from the Hagerstown office. Why don't they have one at each office??? After a 5-10 minute test (outside of my view), the machine was deemed "perfectly fine". My apneas were still reading dangerously high, so I asked if a mask would be a better alternative (I had nose cushions). Unfortunately, no respiratory therapist was available for over a week. I had to drive from Frederick to Hagerstown to see the therapist. While being fitted with a mask the machine simply died twice. ResMed was contacted over speaker phone and their solution was to disable the "auto start" feature. The mask did not work for me, so I went back to the nose cushions. However the dangerously high apneas continued. Despite leakage being in the acceptable levels. Suddenly it occurred to me. When I got up to use the bathroom at 1 ,2,3, a.m. I realized that the machine WOULD NOT pulse air if I simply did not inhale. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of this device; which is to force air when someone stops breathing. I tried this multiple times with the same result. The machine did not work, and most certainly was not working during the night, resulting the extreme levels of apneas that were occurring. This morning, after waking up at 3 A.M. and "testing" the machine, IT NEVER PULSED ANY AIR WHEN I DID NOT INITIATE AN INHALE BREATH. CONFIRMED FINALLY, that this machine was not working; perhaps ever. I called the Frederick office at 8 a.m. and the gentleman said he would have to speak with a manager before he could give me a "loaner" while my machine was being tested by the manufacturer. 7 1/2 hours later, with no word from this guy, I called. I was put through to the operations manager who explained that they had no "loaners" and they had ordered a new machine for my use while the defective one was sent back to manufacturer. Kelly was quite considerate and competent, but was surprised the the mysterious guy I spoke with at 8 a.m. had not communicated this to me. So I await Medoville to obtain a "loaner" machine, that they clearly should have had available immediately. I am stuck with a malfunctioning machine for perhaps a week, while Medoville gets their collective act together. This is a lawsuit just waiting to happen."
"This veteran will no longer use Medoville Medical Supplies. The shipment to me had 5 items and the invoice listed 7. I inquired and the representative said Medicare requires them to list the entire mask assembly (in a sealed bag) at $79.68 while also listing the head gear harness $26.86 and nasal cushion $27.28 both of which are in the sealed bag costing $79.68. To me this is medical billing fraud and I will be informing my insurance company to see what they think. I said I will go elsewhere and the technician said everyone bills the same way; I guess I will see. I am in my 50s, how is Medicare a factor. I will also have a conversation with my doctor that referred me to Medoville for supplies."
"I was having trouble with my Resmed S9 Bipap machine and took it to the store where I purchased it. Kelly Olthof was instrumental in helping me not only get my machine back from the manufacturer (for a repair that never happened) but for also contacting my insurance company and getting them to authorize the purchase of a new machine. I am dependent on a Bipap to get a restful sleep and Kelly and the other people at Medoville were very helpful and went beyond normal customer service in resolving this issue. If you need a Bipap machine Medoville is the place you want to go to get one."
"by far, the best and most knowledgeable DME supplier covered under my insurance plan. In selecting my CPAP provider I placed telephone calls to several providers recommended by my insurance plan. This was the only provider that had local employees available to answer my questions, and they understood my insurance plan better than the customer service rep for my insurance plan. once my doctor had sent in the RX for my CPAP, I received a call from the local office letting me know that my RX was received and once things were ready to go, they would call me again to set up a mask fitting and equipment issue. On appointment day, things went smoothly. the ladies in the office were very knowledgeable and helpful. I will also say that they were very PATIENT, as I needed to bring my 2 year old with me to the appointment, which did make it more challenging for bot me and the associate. post appointment, I have made a few calls back to the office to ask questions about the fit on my mask, and adjusting to sleeping with the mask, ect, and again, the customer service has been exceptional. I highly recommend this provider for CPAP machines and supplies. if I could give more stars, I would. also, having read the other reviews on here: Their hours are very standard, and the fact that they offered to send someone to your house outside of normal hours should have warranted that you rate more than 1 star.....I haven't come across another provider of ANY service that would offer to do such a thing."
"When I first started going here, the service was good. However, when I went back for other medical supplies, the person taking my information left his screen open as he walked away for everyone to see my private personal confidential information. Confidential, they are not!!! Then the part that I purchased literally fell apart during the first month of use. A part that has lasted me 6 to 9 months purchased through another company was now basically worthless to me. So I took the part from my other machine and attached it and use that now. It works fine. I paid for my bill with cash. Big mistake, I'm now being billed again for a part that is worthless to me and being issued final notice statements and threats to be put into collection. I would not recommend these people or their products to anyone."
