"Unfortunately, after I left a 1-star review here and rated the clinician who treated me on a different site (Health Grades), I experienced retaliation and illegal harassment. A woman with knowledge of my previous mental health treatment made an anonymous call to the local police, telling them that I was a danger to myself and that I was suicidal. The police arrived at my home last night. This happened less than 24-hours after a negative exchange took place with this practice and the clinician. The fact that the clinician or her boss made a bogus complaint to the police in retaliation speaks volumes of the character of the staff. Making false statements to the police is a crime and it is beyond unethical. I am filing complaints with the Maryland Board of Nursing and any other relevant Boards in due time. Do not patronize this practice. If you upset these people for being honest, they will retaliate and attempt to forcibly commit you against your will. Stop lying and get a real job."

As a new patient who has recently attended one of the GBCC facilities, I found their approach towards mental healthcare to be, unfortunately, lacking in many ways. One of the key issues I encountered is a seemingly prevalent culture of preferential treatment. Transparent and unbiased patient care appears to be a missing component. Those who voice their concerns or challenges – essential tenets of a functional healthcare system – quickly find themselves on the periphery. My legitimate concerns were greeted not with professional consideration or effective solutions but with cold dismissal. I was effectively left without essential professional support. Another point of dissatisfaction has been the lack of substantial support during transitional periods. In the past, patients could reliably count on consistent care between long-term providers, a feature that has faded under the present management. There is also a lack of adept medication management, making the process fraught with uncertainty for long-term patients like me. The insight and understanding once used to guide the management of medications felt noticeably absent during my recent visits. Patient experiences should neither be dictated by their willingness to remain silent nor by their hesitance to voice grievances. Sadly, at GBCC Behavioral Health, it seems to be a determinant of the attention and care one receives. In conclusion, my recent visit to a GBCC Behavioral Health facility leaves me with concerns about the overall quality of care. The missing sense of professionalism, inadequate communication, and inappropriate patient management point towards systemic issues that detract from the facility's true purpose: serving patients with indisputable care, compassion, and competence. Sadly, my experience points to the contrary, and I'm left yearning for the reliable and empathetic mental healthcare that was once the norm here."

"I was dealing with a situation and I couldn't deal with it and I called my insurance company and they referred me to Gbcc/Oasis in Annapolis and my first person that I spoke to was Emily and she was excellent and listened to me and having me an appt set up for the very next day I was so relieved that I could speak to someone that quickly. Haley is very helpful and kind and pleasant when she is on the phone.Dr. Nance is very helpful I only had two sessions with her already and she listens to me without judgment and I'm trying to think positive. This is my first time seeing a therapist.So hopefully I have a great experience with this company. Corine was also pleasant and nice and helpful when I asked her about my paperwork being sent out to my job they were on top of it. Thank you for your help with everything I really appreciate it."

"Wow I’m surprised about all the negative reviews. We’ve been seeing counselors from this practice for about a year. Myself and both of my kids have been treated here for both medication mgmt and therapy. The practice is easy to deal with, is responsive to calls, and is open to criticism. We’ve had to request a new therapist due to not being a good fit and they got my kid on a waiting list quickly and reached out for some group therapy suggestions too. Like anywhere there are bad practitioners but with my experience with 4 different drs from this practice I have been very pleased."

"I read that a lot of people have had issues with organization of the office, appointments and staff. I personally have never run into those problems. I really enjoy all of my providers. They all make me feel valued and listened to. I am quite sensitive to medications, so once I started going down the medication path my provider listened to my feedback and never pushed me one way or the other until we found one that worked. I really enjoy this office and appreciate their numerous locations. Staff is always welcoming, positive and friendly and the offices are always clean and well kept."
