"My friend found this place in the DCist's Top Thift Stores article. Unfortunately the article was from 2016 so many of the places listed were no more. Fia's was one one of the few exceptions. We pulled up around 3 in the afternoon unaware that the store had switched over to appointment only for in-person shopping. The lady working at the time kindly let us in since there was an hour until the next appointment. Their inventory was fantastic, if a little disorganized. The layout has been converted more to a warehouse than a sales floor. The store is also transitioning into online sales. As things turned out the kind lady who let us in to shop was the owner herself. She explained the appointment-only policy and told us we could text the store number to make future appointments. It felt good to have been able to support a local, black woman-owned shop, especially after going through the list of stores that weren't able to stay open. On the inventory: I found a lot of good pieces in my size which made me very happy. I'm on the curvier side and I'd definitely recommend this place for plus sized fashionistas. I saw very few items for men and children so you might not want to do family shopping here."
