"Enjoyed our stay here. At check-in we received a welcome packet with information about the area including places to visit, campground map, and wifi password. Loved that their website was so thorough too and helped us know important places quickly (like the pizza for first night since we didn't feel like cooking after setting up). Owner took us right to the site and guided us in. We were a little hesitant driving through the campground because there are some areas that have fallen into disrepair but once we arrived at our site that all went away. All the sites are pretty secluded and under a canopy of trees but site 64 is by far the best, we felt like we were all alone up here at the top of the hill with our rock wall for privacy. The walking/hiking trail was just a site over for frequent walks with our dog before going out on longer hikes for the day. Everyone observed the quiet hours but it was rare to hear much of anything since we're all pretty far apart. We would definitely come back."
"This is a beautiful campground. The site we had was shaded and flat. Our camper has a bathroom, which is a plus because the bathhouse is under renovation. The roads need some work as they are a little bumpy. The staff is very nice. There is plenty to do around the area. If you are not afraid to back your rig into your site, you will enjoy it. The whole campground is wooded."
"If you want a very shaded, pretty quiet park, this is a good choice. The road going up the hill is steep in spots, not the smoothest. No good for bicyling. Many of the spots aren't overly level, so be sure you've got 6" adjustment capabilities for at least two wheels. No showers or outdoor bathroom. When we checked in at the red caboose, we were given a huge packet of "things to see" information. THAT was a big plus. All in al, an enjoyable, no frills stay. Weekly rate gets the 7th night free, monthly rates 190/week plus electricity costs... Pretty reasonable to me..."
"We stayed for a long holiday weekend (Fri-Tues). Our site was extremely spacious as we had room for both our vehicles, our camper, our Harley, our golf cart and still plenty of room for our table and fire pit area; an added bonus, we had the site with the bear totem pole! Upon making reservations the owner was very clear that our unit had to be completely self contained as there are renovations going on in their out buildings which was not a problem. The owner was so nice and helpful from helping my husband with some questions about the camper, as we are still pretty new to camping to helping with our golf cart my husband broke! So over all- wonderful sites (at great rates), more than accommodating owner- an all around great long weekend."
"We stayed at the Loose Caboose for a few days with our grandkids in April 2023. We loved our site! Great view, very private, and very quiet. My grandkids had a great time. Don was very nice and communicated well with me (it was a last minute reservation) I am giving 4 stars because of the playground. The kids loved it but it definitely needs some TLC. We would definitely stay there again!!"
