"We have a lovely getaway at Horizon View Farms. The location is easy to get to from the PA turnpike, and the views are stunning. It is obvious the property is well taken care of and the staff really likes to be accommodating. One thing we noticed was how quiet it was at night. It was a short drive to the GAP trail and small towns and markets. We hope to come again sometime to enjoy more of the facilities - the firepit, etc."
"This place is great! So much room and right down the road from Laurel Hill State Park. There are a bunch places to sleep and multiple bathrooms. The house is very nice and clean. We had the caretaker cook breakfast for us and it was delicious. If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is a great option. You can see the stars and it's so quiet. The porch and fire pit are awesome as well. I definitely want to stay here again!"
"For weddings or parties I will gladly admit this place is gorgeous! It's rustic and beautiful. The barn, buildings and property all included. My complaint here is the horses. We bought 2 horses from them a few years ago because my daughter fell in love after taking riding lessons there. We bought them because we were told we could continue to board them & allow them to use them for their trail rides. Not even 2 months after that, the owner shut down the trail rides, and lessons, and boarding. We had to find somewhere else further away to board our horses and get lessons elsewhere. Not only that, but he sent the barn manager away as well and she was the only one who knew how to care for the horses correctly. If you see his own personal horses there now they are in bad shape, and most of the time don't have food or water. I just can't agree with such a beautiful place having animals and not wanting to pay to feed them to keep them healthy."
"I don't usually do this but they deserve it..I booked an hour trail ride with the horizon view stables staff for myself and my three children (13,15,17). I am an experienced rider having and showing horses almost all of my life..unfortunately I no longer have horses. It's difficult for me to go somewhere and pay to ride. And even more difficult finding some where to go that have horses which "still " have there own personality. ( not what we call a push button horse..one that is just there physically) the horses here were great! I was so happy to finally enjoy my ride and watch my children encounter what a real horse should be. Alert and energetic..The horses were very well taken care of and healthy. The stables were clean and very maintained..the staff was also a delight, kind , friendly and hard workers.!.THEY DID A GREAT JOB. We had a really enjoyable afternoon. The kids couldn't stop talking about there horse and the little things each if them experienced. There smiles made it worth the money. If you want the real thing..go here! ; )"
"We went to Horizon View Farms through a Living Social promotion for a 1 hour riding lesson + 1 hour trail ride and a lunch. The staff were very friendly and the property was quite beautiful. The riding lesson was cursory as I expected; it was for a group of 4, so the lesson was pretty much limited to how to steer and stop. We had a few issues during the trail ride where the lead pony refused to move forwards, but we managed. The lunch was very delicious and seconds were encouraged. :) Although we didn't stay for the B&B, we got a tour of some of the rooms, and they seemed well-appointed and clean."
