"Best croissant/ pain au chocolat in DC! I stumbled on this coffee shop accidentally. The coffee was good— but I was blown away by the quality of the pastries. The pain au chocolat had the perfect crust and bread consistency, and just the right amount of chocolate in it. Highly recommend."
"Hi, I attended RW dinner at Petite Cerise. I would say that going in, I had high expectations for the food and was looking forward to it. But, the food was sub-par at best, and not at all worthy of the $65+tax. I would personally never come to this restaurant again based on my experience. The salmon entree was a little hard and bland from the inside and the lentils were not seasoned. The dessert which was the meringue had some low quality, sour jam inside which ruined the taste of the overall dessert. The only thing that I really relished was the cauliflower soup which was the appetizer and just for that, it wasnt worth going through the RW menu. Lesson learned, not only would I not come to Petite Cerise again, I would also not recommend it to anyone visiting town. There are better places. I would say that the best thing was the really welcoming and friendly staff!"
"I love this restaurant and I can't wait to go back! Service is stellar and prompt, with the high level of attentiveness and the extra touches you hope for from a French restaurant. I'm pretty by-the-book when it comes to my taste in French food, so I couldn't appreciate the adventurous approach to some of the dishes -- for example, the lobster came drizzled with a vanilla oil that I didn't enjoy -- but nevertheless the skill of the cooks was obvious throughout my meal. I ordered the crawfish gratin, salad, lobster risotto, and cardamom ice cream to finish. Excellent wine and cocktails too!"
"Lovely place for being so close to the convention center! Very busy during a big conference, but that’s understandable. They seemed a little understaffed for how busy it was though unfortunately, but I waited less than 5 minutes for a table to myself. Nice. Really good food for lunch, but this would be better for dinner I think. I feel like the menu was missing a small side veggie option for lunch, it was either something decadent or a whole entree sized salad. Nonetheless delicious. I wish I could have done some sparkling wine and oysters but I had a whole work day to get back to! A little expensive, but understandable. Lovely spot."
"I had a great meal at Petite Cerise tonight. I sat at the bar and really enjoyed it because I had a great view of the kitchen. The service at the bar was great and I tried two mocktails which were delicious - the best mocktail was a take on an aperol spritz and was spot on. I had the Assiette De Sauccion appetizer and it was excellent. The mustard seeds were amazing on that dish. I had the pork croquette which was delicious - I particularly liked the nectarines. The crab tartine was my favorite dish - perfect sauce and crab. I also had the fries which I highly recommend. Overall a great experience like being transported to France. The atmosphere is perfect."
