Reviews
"Vegetarian perspective There were great options for vegetarian and vegan. However, I thought the menu sounded better than it tasted. I got the paneer bowl and I usually find Indian food like addicting. You have one bite and can't stop. This was not the case for this. It was corporate Indian food, like Panera for Indian food. The service was quick and friendly, the interior was colorful and has seating, but most orders were takeout."
"I tried the “eat your veggies” bowl and the samosas, both were great. This place serves cafeteria style so you see and can pick everything going into your meal and the service is quick. Everything was fresh and flavorful, I’ll warn you that the eggplant was spicy and this wasn’t indicated on the menu."
"Rasa is a fast casual Indian restaurant similar to the Chipotle model. You can choose from a preset bowl or choose to build your own bowl (with selections for grains, meats, vegetables, sauces and toppings). Flavor/wise the spice level is very mild. The lamb kebabs were ok but the turmeric rice was a bit wet."
"Venturing into the heart of Washington DC, I stumbled upon RASA - a hidden culinary gem that has left me awe-struck and utterly satisfied. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the inviting ambiance, tasteful decorations, and comfortable seating arrangements. Finding RASA was a breeze, thanks to its convenient location in downtown DC, and I was delighted to discover an abundance of paid parking options available nearby, making it incredibly hassle-free to access. The warm and welcoming staff at RASA added an extra layer of charm to the experience. Greeting me with smiles and genuine enthusiasm, they guided me through their menu, passionately explaining the ingredients and flavors of each dish. Their thoughtful suggestions for pairing items heightened my anticipation and curiosity about what was to come. Now, let's talk about the food - a symphony of flavors that left my taste buds dancing with delight! I had the pleasure of trying multiple rice bowls, each more enticing than the last. The allo tikki bowl and the roasted vegetables bowl were exceptionally flavorful, with rich gravies and perfectly cooked vegetables. While the spice level was on the milder side, I understood the consideration for diverse palates in the area. The naan, a staple in Indian cuisine, was soft, fluffy, and expertly cooked, serving as an ideal accompaniment to the delectable dishes. Intrigued by the thought of trying a healthier version of samosas, I couldn't resist ordering them. To my delight, they were baked to perfection, boasting a delightful potato filling that left me craving more. One aspect that pleasantly surprised me was the affordability of the menu. Compared to many other restaurants nearby, RASA offered an exceptional value for money. The reasonable prices allowed me to explore a variety of dishes without worrying about breaking the bank. The seating capacity, accommodating about 20 people inside and a few charming tables outside, created a cozy and intimate setting for a relaxed meal. It's the perfect place to unwind and indulge in the exquisite flavors RASA has to offer. In conclusion, RASA surpassed my expectations in every way. The seamless blend of flavors, courteous staff, and inviting ambiance made this dining experience truly unforgettable. As a lover of Indian cuisine, RASA has undoubtedly secured its place as one of my top choices in DC. Whether you're a seasoned fan of Indian cuisine or simply curious to explore new flavors, I wholeheartedly recommend RASA. From the moment you walk in, you'll be transported on a delightful culinary journey that will leave you yearning for more. With its reasonable prices and exceptional quality, RASA stands tall as a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts looking for an authentic Indian dining experience in downtown DC. I can't wait to return and savor more of the remarkable dishes that this hidden gem has to offer!"
"I went with two of my friends and we found that the food was alright, but even though it was not busy, we felt like we were rushed through the process. Even at times when we had the opportunity to choose more than one option, after one choice we were moved down the assembly line. My friend didn't even get a chance to pick toppings before the employee put the lid on her container. We also ordered Naan and it was so dry we couldn't eat it."
