"Not the worst school. Has lockers rooms, classrooms, Spanish Italian and french classes, chem labs and kitchens. The gyms are decent and the food is as expected"

"New Castle Jr/St High Schools new building is so nice and modern. It makes learning much easier for the kids. The new school is large with all the latest in high schools. The building is very secure with armed police, metal detectors and a very strict visiting policy. As a parent, the security is sometimes a pain but I really appreciate how serious they take the safety of my children. The school offers lots of extra activities and programs for all the kids. Lots of off street parking and street parking which was always a major issue with the old building since it's in a residential area. The school always looks nice inside and out, very clean and makes this historical part of the city look really good."

"Worst school I have ever been to. Fights break out almost every day at this school. Alot of the teenage girls in this school are pregnant. This one girl I met at this school was pregnant with a 23 year old and she was only in 8th grade. The restroom are disgusting like do the janitors do their jobs the floors are covered in urine and the walls have boogers on them."

"If you read my High School Transcript from the 80's when I attended this school district it reads like a life wasted. I was not prepared for life after the 12th grade. I did finally get accepted at a university but only on a provisional basis at first. I had a year and a half of hard work to bring my education up to college proficiency. I was horrified and embarrassed when I realized how inadequate my education from New Castle left me. And I am truly sorry given my life circumstances I came back here after my marriage ended. I apologize to my children every day for the lot I have imposed on them. I pray daily that God has a sense of humor and can help me free my children from this life I've subjected them to. "As much as I love the teachers I had, I can't say every teacher was the same as my teachers. If you weren't an honors student, you were going to have a bad time. Many of the teachers are lazy, and many more do not care about the students at all. However, being an honors student gave me the best education a school could offer in Lawrence County and for that, I thank NCH."
