Holiday Inn Express & Suites New Castle, an IHG Hotel

"Stayed for 1 night for work. Room was clean, front staff were great. Breakfast was as anticipated.... only thing i wasnt keen on was the actual mattress. SUPER firm. Which isnt my thing. Made it impossible to sleep. But thats a me thing, not an issue per say. Overall it was as expected."

"Room has a very odd underlying smell, kind of like sewage. There was a piece of trash beside my bed. Card kept de-activating and I had to get it reactivated twice. Back door doesn't respond to keycard."

"This is not only one of the worst places to say but also one of the worst places to work. The rooms are are filthy. There I guess that have stayed there and said that they couldn't use your washcloths or towels because it felt like someone nutted in them and they were crunchy. Damn near every AC unit is either broken or has something wrong with it. I feel bad for the poor railroad workers that have to stay in this hotel they consistently complain about how the manager doesn't do her job. Their rooms are never clean enough, sheets are always forgotten to get changed either after someone's done staying or in the middle of their stay. They have rude contract workers that don't speak correctly to people. Also just straight up lie to customers faces. There is no good selections for their shops it is always empty. The only thing that anyone should look forward to when saying there is the breakfast and the sweet amazing breakfast lady Jessica. If anyone ever asked me that new lady needs a raise and a higher position maybe even management. I an old employee was told by the manager herself that she wouldn't hire this sweet lady for a housekeeping position because she looked too heavy and it looked like she couldn't breathe. And I myself had seen this woman come in everyday since the day that she put her application in to try to get the interview set up and show the manager how serious she was when it came to trying to work for the company and that's how she was treated in return. I've heard her say that she wouldn't hire people do to multiple reasons that should have nothing to do with someone's professional worth ethic. Whether it's the Gap in their teeth is too far apart or she didn't like the color weave that the woman was wearing when she came in for an interview. This hotel needs to do better and the works need to be treated like humans."

"We stay at this hotel every time we come to town. We will no longer be staying here. We checked in to the room around 3:20pm. When we got in the room there was less than a 1/4 roll of toilet paper. I had to go to get more at the front desk. We went to bed around 9-9:30 so we could get up at 5 am for our 10 hour drive back to South Carolina. At 12:30 am we were woken up by the room above us stomping and running, slamming the door and running the hallways. It literally sounded like they were coming through the ceiling. We had called Nicole at front desk twice to complain. The third time my husband was very upset and went down to the desk. She informed him that they were kids and their parents were not at the hotel. She had called the parent to see when they were coming back. When my husband was on the way back to the room they were on our floor running and carrying on in our hallway. By 1:30 am this was all still going on. We ended up checking out. As we’re checking out we told her it was still going on. She has the nerve to say if they keep it up she’s going to have to ask them to leave. They should have been asked to leave after we complained the third time. I’m completely fed up with how this situation was handled. I wasted money and all my points on a room to sleep for 3 hours! Spoke to the manager and she had to “investigate” and would get back to me. Surprise, surprise that never happened. So watch out they just let unattended minors run the hall at all hours of the night."

"Had a terrible experience at this hotel over the weekend. I do not recommend it for any wedding blocks as they were very unorganized and truthfully the employees appeared to not be able to complete their job duties. I had spoken to the manager two days prior to my check in date as I originally booked a king room and was notified I would have a double instead. The manager assured us she had fixed the issue. However, this did not happen as they “overbooked the rooms”. Once arriving to the room, I found that it was already occupied with personal items, including money on the dresser, luggage, etc. thankfully no one was in there! When I informed the front desk of this situation, they went back and forth with one another about having this room cleared out and the personal items removed.. Other guest also had complaints regarding rooms not being cleaned and not being able to check in during check in time. I decided to cancel my reservation as my room wouldn’t be ready until I returned back after 11pm and chose not to provide any money to this hotel. Please be mindful before choosing to utilize this space for any events!"
