"So today we took our puppy for his first grooming appointment — we’d reliably used the veterinary side, and seen the reasonable reviews online for grooming, so I assumed it would be a good idea to try the groomer here too. I cannot express how disappointed and angry I am with the experience — our six month golden doodle was groomed to be a poodle, almost shaven entirely, advising he was “matted” to such a degree that it would’ve been “torture” to do anything else. He has been regularly brushed (3-5x per week) and while I’m sure the groomer will argue otherwise, my fiancée called the office repeatedly throughout the day and no one picked up many times. We were advised we should be combing his hair vs brushing, and that may have led to some irritation/slight matting — pretty reasonable, but he was no where near matted to anywhere near the level necessary to cut him down like they did today. I’m not like the average grooming consumer - I dated someone who ran their own grooming business (and still does to this day) for several years. I’ve seen even the worst of matting avoid a shave down like this, yet it was done willynilly with no regard for how it may impact his final coat or how utterly horrific the haircut looks. No one from the grooming salon indicated that this would be the final outcome to my fiancée either in advance. He looks NOTHING like the gorgeous, happy dog that he was coming into the groomer. And I’m sure the salon will respond claiming he was in bad condition, I really hope not because it would be shameful to do that because of how much work we’ve put into bathing/grooming/plus training him. We just finished a puppy training class at Leader of the Pack in Allentown. I hope beyond hope that the estimates of five months for his hair to regrow normally are incorrect online, which means he’ll be double the size and age before he looks anything like he did before. My best guess is the groomer was inexperienced, backed up, and unsure of how to handle a puppy cut or had any idea how to groom a golden doodle. Needless to say, I’d go anywhere else but here."
"Thank you so much to Mary and the staff at Quakertown Grooming! My Silver Shaded Persian (Theo) looks WONDERFUL! Thank you for fitting him in on such short notice. Mary and staff, you are all a great!!"
"They don't let you see where they keep your dog. I know this COVID thing keeps us all out but all other boarders I've taken my dog to will post pictures of the dogs playing. I'll continue using their excellent hospital and Veterinary service but go elsewhere for the boarding."
"Inever have to worry if my Furbaby is being taken care, like she is at home. The staff is incredibly kind & knowledgeable of all veterinary care. There's no other place where I have so much trust to leave my Saige."
"I just wanted to thank Mary and staff personally for grooming and taking care of my cat Ciri today. She helped me right away and had that special touch it takes to groom a cat. We all know how very special they can be! Thank you again and I will definitely bring my cat back to you for grooming. My cat was relaxed afterwards and I could see how you and your staff were so good with her. Keep up the good work."
