"Adopted my best friend, Chase, from Women's Animal Center in 2013. Everyone was very nice and the animals all looked to be well cared for. We found out pretty quick that Chase had some food sensitivities and the vet on staff was very helpful with giving us food suggestions. Chase is an old man now but still the best dog. I would absolutely adopted from here again"
"The overall experience of getting the dog was great. Everyone was extremely sweet and helpful. Once we brought our new pup home we took her to the vet only to spend close to $600 due to a "wicked ear infection"(plus follow ups). Since this shelter is connected to a vet this was rather disappointing that it was not caught. I even glanced at her ears quickly and could tell that something was amiss. My husband and i love our dog very much and we wouldn't trade her for the world but a $600 vet bill within the first month was not expected."
"I took our miniature sheltie/pom wrapped in a towel, shadow or ziggy that got ripped open, guts hanging out by a rottie that got loose, well they grabbed him and immediately cared for him, sewed him all together, saved his life, they even knew the right meds for this breed, god bless WAC."
"Got her Feb at 35 lbs, now 75lbs. Great place never had an issue. Will adopt a second dog from here."
"Yesterday I took my 7 month old bengal to get neutered. When they called and said he was ready for pick up I was notified that he had a small cut on his ear, as I arrived I found this to be an understatement. There are 3 large unmistakeable cuts. Supposedly this happened before surgery while he was in their holding facility. I was given no proper explanation as to how this occurred. Only run around stories and altering theories of how this could’ve or may have occurred. Not only was there no explanation, the man in charge argued with me that this was no big deal. It’s not as if this resulted from complications in surgery, or effects of the anesthesia, this was before he underwent anesthesia. Something occurred while he was in holding yet, nobody had an answer for me. I’ve brought 7 animals here since 2008 that are all still alive. This left the worst taste in my mouth as I assume something has changed in management leading to a change in the way business is being conducted. This will be my last time bringing an animal here."
