"I lived/currently living here since 2019. The location is great. My biggest annoyance at the moment is the original design of the apartment complex. They have heated floors which are nice but have no air conditioning which in the summer is a necessity. Also the appliances are hitting the end of their life span. All which are not the fault of the current management. The current management company does a decent job of communicating to the residents. They have made some much needed improvement around the complex including repaving the parking lot. With everything said. I still recommend living here for the location alone & the variety of apartment choices."
"I appreciate the new management that took over from last years. They have fixed true water heater and are very quick to reply to any issues a tenant is having. But the only problem was they would tell the maintenance people, but luckily the maintenance people are super kind"
"If you have any ounce of self respect for yourself, then please take my advice and DO NOT RENT AN APARTMENT HERE because the management here has none for you. If I could rate 0 stars I would. I rented here between August 2020 to December 2022. Originally I chose UPA because they were a 10 minute walk to the only building on campus that all of my classes were in and they allowed pets. However, issues began arising when I was charged double for rent and/or utilities on almost a monthly basis. Contacting the manager at the time was my only hope because he has to relay to someone above him to get the double charges removed, and there was no explanation as to why I was double charged in the first place. This continued throughout my entire 2 year stay here. Eventually the manager at the time quit and a new one, Anthony, was hired. He is very difficult to get ahold of via phone, and will direct you to sending an email for the “fastest response”. The issue with management is that the majority of your issues require going above the manager that you contact, and those people are impossible to get in contact with. This was the case when my apartment flooded due to a burst pipe in the shared laundry space the Monday of finals week. I woke up to 2 inches of water in my apartment at 6 am, and sent emails and voicemails to the managements phone and emails. I NEVER received a response from him until he just showed up at 10:30 AM, said he was sorry for not responding, and helped me move my stuff out of my apartment to dry while I waited for maintenance to shut the water off and drain it. I was offered a VISA giftcard for compensation, or a discount on next months rent. It took 8 MONTHS of sending emails to management to actually apply the discount, and it was only $100 off. The maintenance man told me that I wasn’t the first person to deal with it, and that it was happening a lot after they fixed their water pressure problem. Maintenance was also slow, and would sometimes take up to 2 weeks to fix appliances. Other than the issues with management and occasional maintenance, I had no other issues with living here, however my experience with management alone, I cannot recommend living here. Please rent elsewhere!"
"Terrible experience. I recommend anybody looking for a place to live to choose any other building in frostburg. Ridiculously overpriced. You can pay half the price at any other apartment building and they are all newer and more updated. Hot water is out half of the year. You have a better chance of getting in contact with the pope than you do the management of this building."
"Worst management of an apartment complex I have ever experienced. My roommate, myself, and I'm pretty sure everyone in my building has had inconsistent hot water for months now. Some days it's hot, some not, you may be lucky if it's warm. No one is ever here to talk to about it unless you talk to the maintenance man who is a really nice guy and has done really all he can at the moment to fix the issue. When we try to contact them we are always sent to a voicemail and then can't leave a message because the inbox is full. When I first moved in my roommate and I was promised a "$100 gift card" for signing the lease that day. Still no sign of the gift card. The guy we talked to to sign the lease was working then all of the sudden disappeared then the number changed to reach management without telling anyone. When we first moved in our fridge and freezer wasn't even near cold enough to keep food in but unfortunate we didn't realize that until my roommate and I had hundreds of dollars worth of groceries down the drain. The only real positive of these apartments are that they are very close to Campus. Stay away from this place unless you enjoy cold showers in the winter and non responsive management to any issues you have."
