"Nice collection of better toys. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Free wrapping of even difficult items like stuffed animals. Easy access to parking, very safe area."
"Happiest place in McLean! We always find great presents here. It's our go-to for birthdays, holidays, or anytime someone has earned a treat. The employees are so patient and helpful in providing advice about the best books, toys, or art supplies and kits for kids of all ages and interests, with lots of options at all price points. I love their free wrapping service and no-fuss return policy. Best of all is the look on a kid's face when they see a package with the signature Child's Play undersea wrapping paper - good times ahead!"
"Poor customer service experience during check out. My 5 year-old son smiled to the surly young man named Mickey, who checked us out, & handed Mickey his lunar new year red envelope to pay for his truck. Mickey just looked at my son without smiling or saying a word while he grumpily took my son’s red envelope and stared at him, expressionless . Afterwards, instead of finishing with our transaction first (we purchased the truck and a birthday present for my son’s classmate, which needed to be wrapped) before moving on to the next customers, Mickey, without any explanations, proceeded to ring one customer after another (one right after us had complicated return & purchase of multiple items) while my son & I stood, bewildered, by the counter. I had to go to the back of the store & get another staff member to help us finish the transaction as I could see Mickey intended to make us wait (without the courtesy of asking me to do so) until he rang every customer in line behind me. I would have been more amenable to waiting if Mickey at the least was kind to us. I was aghast that Child’s Play would allow such an unprofessional & emotionally unavailable staff member, who obviously did not care for children, to man its registers. Does Child’s Play even train his guy on customer service? This experience ruined the joy, wonder & magic of visiting Child’s Play for us. We had been going there since we moved to the area. My son had purchased almost all of the Bruder trucks the store carried. I had to tell my son that this might be the last time we’d go to this store. He was sad, but I reminded him that there are other stores in the area other than Child’s Play. There is also Amazon."
"Can’t say enough good things about my experience here. Went looking for a game for my family gift exchange and an employee helped me find the perfect game. My family loved it and played for hours Christmas night! And the gift wrapping was free?? Would give six stars if I could."
