"I heard of them at another event earlier in the summer and was excited to try one of their “small dogs frolick” after dark events. I came in and the place smelled disgusting. It definitely desperately needed to be cleaned. I think some dogs had peed on their rugs right in the lobby and on the corner of the desk, which is why it’s never a good idea to have rugs in a facility like this. Nobody was cleaning that area either, when I came in, the employee was still behind the desk. The building needs better ventilation because I was nearly choked by the scent and I’m human, imagine a dog (potty trained or not), but anyway, I moved past that. I figured there would be a bigger and cleaner space in the back and they’re shorter staffed. I told the worker I’d met at the event earlier in the summer that I was worried my dog, Elliott, would have an accident inside if I brought him there and he assured me it was ok. When I came, I saw him and said hello right away he remembered me but he was getting off work for the night. He reassured me it was ok and his colleague, who overheard my reservation about him possibly having an accident, joking with her colleague said “you’re saying it’s okay because you’re going home,” and he laughed but then reassured me again more seriously. He was so nice. I don’t mind playful banter like that between colleagues even though it’s a little unprofessional. I can move past it no issue though had the woman that was left there not yelled at my dog in front of everybody for pooping on the equipment. I’m embarrassed enough, and besides, he wasn’t even a year old at this point and you can tell by the smell of the room before any dogs peed or pooped that night, that they host daycare sessions in there in which dogs are encouraged to potty indoors so the smell overwhelmed, my otherwise potty trained, puppy because of their lack of cleanliness and somehow its acceptable for an employee to yell his name and scowl at him before going to get cleaning supplies which I took and used to clean up after my own dog anyway????? I just think it’s not good to work in a doggy daycare/gym/or any environment with pets if you aren’t sensitive to their nature. I paid $20 for my dog to be in a room with a smell that choked me and for him to be scolded by someone other than myself for soiling in a filthy place like that anyway. Didn’t go back. Forgot to leave this review a few months ago. Response to manager: Thank you for a swift reply. The smell is not the reason I feel I would not return. However I do feel it was strong enough that an owner not mentioning it to an employee should not have been an issue. It was noticeable without mention. I’d suggest having a small welcome mat size rug in front of the door for people to dry their feet but then otherwise keeping a dry mop and a wet floor sign in the corner for the rest of the floor. Large rugs are large pee pads and it’s much worse when they’re wet. I hope my suggestion is taken into account though the smell isn’t my main reason for not recommending this business. Scolding someone’s dog is rude no matter where you are and who you are. Employees should understand that all dogs have had different experiences with discipline and owners know that and have adjusted to their dogs. I have always cleaned up after my own dog, even in situations where someone is hired to clean after the dogs. My dog seeing me care for him is part of our bond and that includes cleaning. If you’re saying your business asks that owners clean after their dogs anyway, that’s even worse because that means a dog soiling has nothing to do with the employee scolding him."
"Not happy when we visited here. The lady from Frolick dogs taking photos needs better education on dogs. My dog has allergies as a good handful of dogs that attended this party. She proceeded to feed dogs treats including mine without asking each individual owner if it was ok. I informed her that my dog has multiple allergies as to please not feed him. She did stop giving him treats when asked, but she continued to throw treats in the ground, which my dog was eating. This can also start an unnecessary dog fight over food. She also was getting upset and rolling her eyes at me and other owners while she sat on the ground with treats because my dog and others were jumping on her. This can also lead to an unnecessary dog fight over food. The place could also use a good scrub down because the place smells of pee when you walk in, and dogs were peeing everywhere because of it. The towels were brown when we would clean it up. I’d give it one star if it wasn’t the only place in the area to host a private party for your dog. This place does need major improvements though in my opinion. The worker did seem nice at the end of the party, but I think it’s extremely important to have education on dogs if you are going to have a business like this."
"I just did my second doggy birthday party here for my two pups and I just love Frolick Dogs. Such a great value for everything they include and offer. Rusty is wonderful as always. She’s very patient with the dogs and gives a lot of great advice and guidance when going through the agility course. All the pups and humans had a blast. I will keep holding my pups birthdays here, thank you Frolick Dogs!"
"I truly cannot say enough good things about Frolick! We started bringing Eve, our recent rescue, here for obedience training in August for her leash reactivity and general lack of self-control. Her trainer Brian has been phenomenal from the very first time I called to inquire. Before I ever made a commitment he gave me a lot of great advice and said I could reach out with any training questions, before we even had an in-person consult. It was clear that he was passionate about what he does and truly cares about the dogs. This is very true of him as well as the entire Frolick team! Eve still has some work to do, but Brian has really helped her to make strides in her progress! We (human owners) even get to do a session with Brian and Eve at the end of each week to help us continue her training. This is also the only obedience school I have found that INCLUDES "daycare", most others have training from 9-12 then if you're at work like most people, you have to pay to day board them at the facility. I really appreciate the continuity of having day care included, it also allows for more breaks/training rather than 3 straight exhausting hours. We are on the waitlist for regular daycare and look forward to enrolling her in agility classes in the winter to continue giving her structure and building her confidence! A few pics of our crazy girl on her first/last day of school :)"
"This was one of the most fun experiences! We had a bulldog agility night (those two words are rarely found side by side) but it was a blast! The meetup group met at Frolic Dogs and the staff was super friendly even though we all showed up at the same time. We were let into the play area and the bulldog chaos started! There were so many pups and everyone had a great time. They had chairs if you were tired as well as a water bowl for them to share. They also provided clean up supplies if your dog had an accident. What a fun place to let the dogs wear themselves out!"
