La Lomita Restaurant

"We hadn't been to La Lomita in quite some time, as we typically frequent other Mexican restaurants throughout the DMV that I prefer more, so I figured that I would give it another chance. I am no stranger to the restaurant business, as my family has been in the biz, up in NY, for many decades. I have even waitressed for them (pro bono of course!) and realize the value of tipping your wait person. However, you need to earn that tip. That means, if a patron requests a box to take home their food in, yes, even free tortilla chips, that you are not supposed to give them an attitude and tell them to just put the loose chips to get crushed inside the to go bag. We asked him nicely, not once, but twice. The food was slightly better since the last visit, too bad the service spoiled that. Sorry, La Lomita, we will not be returning."

"I font remember the name of the dish but it was excellent. I'm not big on fish dishes with alot of vegetables but this shrimp and scallops dish either the broth was spicy and tasty.The shrimp appetizers disappeared before I got to take a pic. Service was excellent and friendly so we will definitely return."

"I tried the chicken and shrimp burrito with double rice and salad. It was pretty good and authentic. My husband had the beef nachos, they were ssssooo cheesy but he enjoyed them. Service was friendly and helpful for me just ordering take out."
