"Let’s start with the good: the server was very nice. That’s it. The food was sadly extremely disappointing. The break that was served either oil was stale and very chewy. The meat balls came in a red tomato sauce that was without a doubt canned sauce, this was the most surprising part. The lasagna seemed old and lacked seasoning. The ravioli with porcini mushrooms was decent but it had the mushrooms missing or any mushroom flavor really. Maybe it’s the dishes that we ordered but the food did not make sense with the existing ratings."

"By far this is the best pizza I’ve had in VA. The margarita pizza at il Canale is the closest to traditional Italian pizza you can get. The truffle ravioli was perfect in every way possible. Same can be said for the calamari. The atmosphere was very calming and the server was great. 10/10 experience. The prices are also very reasonable."
"Just ok food for Georgetown students who want something walking distance. It was not busy at all but I got a reservation anyways. I don't think it lives up to the hype or the award it claims. Calamari was yummy, lightly battered and crunchy. The chicken was a bit dry but the mushroom sauce wasn't bad. Ravioli was bland."
"Authentic Italian restaurant! I'm Italian and I can confirm. I enjoyed the focaccia as antipasto and eggplant pizza. Great and friendly service. We had a lovely and tasty dinner out with colleagues. I highly recommend it."
