"This has been a neighborhood staple for a long time but seems to have slipped into mediocrity. Service and staff were helpful and friendly but food is not what it was- for example the taramaslata that was previously a real star was very mayo forward and light on the cod roe. Salads had reverted to “ok” with a lot of iceberg Biggest single issue was a machine blasting air freshener perfume into the air every 10 minutes with a cloud of vapor drifting down on to our food. Super gross and allergy inducing. Couple of other issues but Hope management is listening and can upgrade back to where they once were."
"I go to a lot of shows here. It's intimate, but the staff are all very friendly, and the food (especially the late night menu) is excellent. Definitely a gem of Mount Pleasant."
"I enjoyed getting a beer with a friend here after work on a Thursday. It wasn't too busy, but still lively. Service was friendly and overall very good, although it did take much too long for our order to be taken (food, not drinks. The latter we got quickly.) I'd happily come back, but maybe not for dinner."
"Stopped in on a busy friday night. They should have just said they were full. Instead they gave us a tiny table smushed into a corner where i was facing a wall. 45 minutes to get a waiter, then 45 minutes to get food, then 45 minutes to get a bill which came out alot higher than expected. no joke we were there over 2 hours for two entrees, one side, and two drinks. Only stuck it out because of the nice weather and vibes. I've never poorly reviewed a local bar in my life but theres nothing "revolutionary" about reheating frozen food and take "Marx" out of your name if youre upcharging for rail G&Ts and fries. Go to Raven or Suns Cinema (or one of the many decent latin american spots) down the street instead of coming here."
"Great food and ambiance. They have a large drink menu. I ordered the burger and my friend ordered the trout. The only reason I am not giving this place 4 stars is because my friend’s trout had so many bones and he couldn’t eat it. BUT the waiter was so nice that he exchanged it for a burger at no charge. The double chocolate ale was delicious. I will definitely come back to check out their live music nights. Give it a try."
