"This park is very close to our home and we visited recently to check out their trails and river front. The park is behind a golf course and the trails run next to the course. The views were nice, but would be better if the park wasn't shared with a golf course."
"It is a big park that has a trail and a golf course. The trail goes along the Potomac River. The trail goes all the way to Bles Park if you go to the right. It goes along Goose Creek if you go to the left. You have to go across the golf course to get to the entrance of the trail. There are signs to tell you where to go. There is a parking lot for the park. You have to go through a neighborhood to get to it."
"Great hiking trails along the Potomac. If you want to hang out and access the river, get there early. The best spots fill up early. The day we went was so perfect, warm temps, no humidity, no wind. Magical."
"Interesting park. It squeezes in between the water, and a golf course. My kids even picked up a few golf balls on the hike. It was a nice walk... But not a wilderness hike by any means. The parking lot is small, and tucked behind a residential neighborhood, but ok. Other than the narrow trail, the only point of interest are the old canal locks. But there is no information posted about them anywhere."
"At first, after I parked, I had to get on the golf course path to get to the Riverfront Park. After a short walk, there is a sign on the right pointing to where the Riverfront Park is. You will need to walk down this gravel path to get there. I stayed on the golf course path. I didn't realize the trail started on the right between the golf course and the river. I continued to walk on the golf course section, and eventually crossed over onto the trail. The trail is very narrow, barely fits 2 average built persons, and if you have people coming from another direction, all of you will need to make adjustments to pass each other. It's narrow enough for 1 bike comfortably, but 2 side by side, it will take special skills. The view of the Potomac River was not as pretty as I was hoping. It is definitely not Great Falls. It is still nice to walk along. When I visited this after, it was windy, quiet and peaceful. The golf course was empty and I saw 3 people on bikes, 3 walking the trail, and a group of men going fishing with a dog off leash. I did also see someone playing fetch with a dog off leash. Just be careful if you or your dog has issues with dogs being off leash I do love the view of the golf course, clean and spacious."
