"This is for the floral department. For $20 I got the most beautiful arrangement and wrapping. I came early in the morning and a young lady helped me so kindly rewrap the flowers. I will be coming back to get all my flowers from wegmans! So happy with the flowers!"
"A few evenings ago I wanted to purchase distilled water for a couple humidifiers in our home. After seeing a few gallon jugs on the shelf, I knocked on the door of the grocery back room and a employee by the name of Jamie offered assistance. I explained that I was looking for cases of distilled water because of my need. I explained that I thought I could purchase them in cases of three. He said he would look into it by inquiring in the back. When he returned I realized that he did not even work in Grocery, but continued to go beyond the call of duty to assist me with my need. Shortly, another gentleman walked out of the back room who was obviously assisting Jamie by the name of Adam. They were both amazing!! They asked me to wait for a few minutes and they would have the water for me. Adam within 5 Minutes or less was coming out of the door and both he & Jamie put the boxes on the bottom of my shopping cart and checked to see if I needed more assistance with handling it. After explaining that I could handle things, I thanked them both and both wished me a good evening. Adam went back to what he was working on in Grocery and Jamie walked off to another department. This explains why Wegmans has always been a “happy place” for me!! Thank you Wegmans for the Customer Service training you provide your employees, it definitely shows."
"I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding a recent experience at Wegmans store, which has left a lasting negative impression on me and my family. On 1st of January 2024, my wife (28 years old), our 1.5-year-old baby, and I (35 years old) visited your store with the intention of purchasing some items to celebrate our baby's recovery from illness. Our shopping list included food, toys for the baby, and a bottle of champagne to mark the occasion. Upon reaching the cashier, we were asked to provide identification for the purchase of the champagne, in accordance with Wegmans policy. I complied, presenting my ID, but when the cashier noticed my wife, he also requested her ID. Unfortunately, my wife had left her ID in the car. This is not an uncommon scenario for us, as we communicate in another language, and sometimes details like this escape our attention. I complied, leaving the bottle behind and proceeding to purchase the remaining items. Baby became capricious and wife went into the car with him. I've tried to buy champagne once again without them. At this point, Manager Nate intervened and decided to restrict the sale of the champagne. However, the confusion and frustration led me to seek clarification from Manager Nate about Wegmans' ID policy, especially considering a similar situation had occurred without incident on a prior visit. Manager Nate (also he looks pretty young, not sure if he is 19) quickly invited another manager, Chase, to join the conversation. To my surprise, they not only refused to sell me alcohol but also informed me that I was banned from the store. I tried to understand the rationale behind this decision and requested clarification on the duration of the ban, but my inquiries were met with laughter and a lack of professionalism. In an attempt to rectify the situation, I left the store to retrieve my wife's ID from the car. Baby was crying and I drove them back home and returned in 20 minutes with both IDs, ready to purchase the champagne as per your policy. However, I was once again denied the sale, with no clear explanation provided. This process was not only unprofessional but also felt arbitrary and discriminatory. I asked for clarification on the specific rule or guideline that warranted such actions, but all that was presented to me was the general policy about age verification. Furthermore, when I requested to make a photo of Manager Chase's badge, he refused, hided it and walked away, further adding to the lack of transparency and professionalism displayed. This entire experience left our family deeply disappointed and disheartened. Our baby had been unwell over the Christmas period, leading to canceled celebrations and plans with friends. The day we visited your store was meant to be a small but significant celebration of his recovery. Instead, it turned into a distressing encounter with Wegmans' store policies and management. I sincerely hope that you take the time to investigate and address this matter promptly. As a loyal Wegmans customer, I believe in the importance of constructive feedback and hope that steps will be taken to prevent such incidents from happening to other customers in the future."
