We took the car to Scott Gannon at Pro Automotive for a second opinion. Scott put the car up on the lift for inspection, and diagnosed some minor rust on a small portion of the exhaust pipe....Scott even showed us photos of the rust. To repair the issue, Scott cut out the rusted portion of the exhaust pipe and welded in new pipe...the catalytic converter did not need to be replaced (as the dealer insisted) and the entire exhaust system did not need to be replaced (as the dealer insisted). Pro Automotive completed the exhaust repair for $600...saving me $6,400 (compared to the dealer's $7,000 proposal)!
