"If you are searching for a unique, beautifully crafted gift for yourself or for someone else & want to make sure your money is supporting an ethically sourced business, this is the store for you. They pay their far away artists & crafters up front at the very start, amazing. Your dollars will make a very real difference in the lives of real people in small villages working to support themselves & their families, everybody wins. You will find items from all over the world to suit every budget, including items for children & will leave with something of quality that you can be proud of gifting. If you request a gift to be wrapped up or put into a special box, they are usually happy to oblige. You can't go wrong supporting this business."
"The store has curated a nice selection of items from several villages as the name suggests. I bought a pretty hand painted tray supporting village folks in Palestine ."
"Love it! Always find great some unique gifts here. Reasonable prices and staff are happy to help."
"This is a fair trade gift shop focused on selling goods from around the world, primarily crafted by women. Lots of cute, fun, beautiful and interesting items for sale."
"Ten thousand Villages was probably my favorite store in Burlington. I won't bore you with their mission statement (although I think it's great, but you can read about it from more knowledgable sources than I ) I will just tell you why I like this place. From the moment we walked in, we were made welcome. There was a very helpful clerk who was there when we needed her and provided lots of great information, but she never hovered and made us feel watched. There were just tons of cute gift items and jewelry to look at and all at very low prices. I purchased two small items which the clerk lovingly boxed for us. She even printed off information sheets to tell us the whole story behind each one. It doesn't get much better than that. Oh wait... it does, because the items I bought were made by artisans in poor countries and they were paid a fair wage for them."
