The Schoolhouse Learning Center

The Schoolhouse Learning Center, located at 8 Catkin Drive in South Burlington, Vermont, is a primary school that welcomes children ages 2 to 14, from preschool through 8th grade. For the past 50 years, The Schoolhouse has been a progressive learning community that values each child's curiosity and independence of mind. The institution nurtures respectful relationships and empowers students to reach their full potential and make a positive impact in their communities.

At The Schoolhouse, students are encouraged to explore their identities, their families, and their ancestors. Through celebrating their similarities and differences, children learn to stand up for justice – both social and environmental. The institution is committed to being anti-biased and anti-racist, starting conversations about identity and justice from a young age.

The Schoolhouse Learning Center admits students of all races, colors, gender identities, sexual orientations, nationalities, and ethnicities. The institution does not discriminate in its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship programs, or other activities.

As a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and a State of Vermont Approved Independent School, The Schoolhouse is dedicated to providing quality education to children in the community. The Story Time preschool program is a State of Vermont 5-Star program and a Vermont Prequalified Prekindergarten Education Program. With a focus on empowering students and promoting social justice, The Schoolhouse Learning Center is a place where children can discover their potential and make a difference in the world.
