"My husband Kaj and I (and our dog Girlfriend) absolutely love this hotel!! If we could give the staff 100 stars we would. Anne, Lucrecia, Jen, Meg… every single staff member we’ve had the pleasure of talking with is so genuinely kind and helpful. The hotel is so cozy - the rooms so comfortable - and the fact that dogs are welcome is a game changer for us. The hotel is so sweet - they have a bed and bowls in the room for your pup if you request them, and for a very reasonable fee they’ll even walk your pup while you’re out! We can’t speak highly enough of this place and the people who work there. We can’t wait to go back again soon!!"
"Have stayed here many times but last stay was terrible. I love that Kimpton allows dogs but the front desk person was not responsive to my request to have someone check on a dog that was barking very loudly for a very long time. Finally was able to get her to change my room but only after several requests and was met with hostility. Have never had such poor customer service at a Kimpton property. Manager offered me points as compensation for the hassle but it was over a month ago and have yet to see them despite a follow up call to the hotel. Really disappointing as this used to be a nice hotel."
"I had a great time. The staff is super friendly! The location is great. It is pretty much in downtown, so i walked everyday to dunkin. I can still taste the vegetarian pasta dish that was so amazing, I considered ordering one to go. There is tons of common space and little touches that anyone would love!"
"Hotel was nice. Rustic feel but new. Location very good. Staff (with the exception of a desk woman who either lied or didn't know) were very good. Major problem was all the pets that were there. I never knew or was told it was a pet accommodating hotel. Nothing on web site or reservation confirmation. I was told the 3rd floor was pet free but it was not. Most disturbing was the fact these animals were allowed in the bar and restaurant. A very expensive hotel to not enjoy my vacation. If you don't want pets on vacation with you avoid at all costs. I leave my dog at home. There are other accommodations in the area."
"The Kimpton Taconic is nestled in the south side of central Manchester, just before the fork in Main Street. It is up to par from what one would expect of an IHG hotel. The decor from the lobby to the rooms are quaint and warm. Guests that stay at the hotel seem exceptionally friendly and chatty, and the hotel offers a lovely daily complimentary drink and help-yourself-snacks for happy hour period to encourage interaction during your stay. The staff are friendly, but then again, Manchester is a tourism town, so exceptional service staff are expected. A high note of service is the on-site restaurant that offers fine dining, and what I can surmise is exceptionally trained staff. Our server brought her A game and blew us away with her charisma and attention to detail. The rooms are fitting with comfortable linen in welcoming beds that tend to be on the softer side for the travel weary to sink into. And as a final touch, during the fall foliage season, the air carries a subtle scent of autumn cinnamon, nutmeg, and maple sweetness. As a final touch, the hotel offers complimentary tickets to the nearby historical Lincoln family home that Carrie’s spectacular views of the nearby Equinox mountain and valleys brimming of red, orange, yellow, and green."
