"Been going since I was very little.... It's my happy place and I love it here more then anywhere in the world..... A must go"
"I have been going here for decades, and the fellow campers are like an extended family. They feed us well and encourage us to "get off the grid" and relax. One day each summer, I leave the island in order to climb Mt. Chocorua. From the top, I can shine a mirror back to the island."
"Beautiful island, friendly atmosphere with lots to do. Three meals provided and the food is fabulous, served family style, all you can eat. No wonder they need to take reservations by lottery."
"Like a wonderful relaxing summer home with lovely nice intelligent people. This is an AMC camp with rustic cabins in a giant Central hall for hanging out and being fed lovely food 3 times a day. Plenty of time to read and swim and canoe and nap."
"This a great family experience with wonderful food (3 meals serves community style each day), a community of regulars for each summer week, Swimming, Kayaking, Canoeing, Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball, hiking, a main house with water and electricity, a recreation house, a retreat small building with electricity as well. There is a no device visible policy which drives people to connect with each other in a way reminiscent of the days before devices and pictures in the main house showing the place looks just like it did 100 years ago, it is a place my family has been to for two summers in a row and foresee many to come as is the case for other campers from our week who have been going for 20+ years. Note: bathroom facilities are composting and non composting outhouses, and bathing is limited to solar showers or swimming in the lake but one gets used to that and it is case for all on the island."
