"Note that I did this in evening into dark in the rain carrying weight. Of the 3 out 4 trails on Pleasant Mountain that I have done so far, I find this one the hardest and it may have been circumstances. Bring water, snacks, your typical layers pending on the weather and your emergency First Aid kit. I stress wear very good footwear. Fun beautiful hike. Mind you for me it got dark on the way up so I did not see all the views the trail had to offer. For the most part the trail is well marked there were a couple places I wish were better, particularly due to the darkness. Day light probably would've been very easy to see the trail. Lot of rock face on this trail. Excellent hike, don't pick this for your first ever hike though, ahaha! I think you want a few hikes under your belt before this trail. I plan to do it again during the day when I'm not carrying. Note no photos from top or near top as it was then dark and focus was on the trail and safety."
"As a hiker, I recently had the pleasure of hiking the Pleasant Mountain - Southwest Ridge Trail in Maine, and I must say it was an absolutely breathtaking experience. The trail is located in the heart of the beautiful White Mountains and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The trail is well-maintained and easy to follow, making it a great option for hikers of all skill levels. Pleasant Mountain has a rich history that dates back to the early 19th century. The mountain was once home to a thriving logging industry, and remnants of old logging roads and camps can still be found throughout the area. Today, Pleasant Mountain is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, with numerous hiking trails, skiing slopes, and other recreational opportunities. What I find particularly impressive about the Pleasant Mountain - Southwest Ridge Trail is its beauty and tranquility. The trail winds through lush forests, past sparkling streams, and up to breathtaking vistas that offer panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. As a hiker, I felt a deep sense of peace and serenity as I made my way along the trail, and I was reminded of the incredible natural beauty that surrounds us. If you're looking for a truly unforgettable hiking experience, I highly recommend the Pleasant Mountain - Southwest Ridge Trail."
"While we only hiked in 2kms due to getting there so late in the day, we made it to see some beautiful views of the low lying lakes in the region. Immediately steep climb but then settles out to a more reasonable meandering climb with plenty of stops for views along the way. Little wildlife when we went as it was winter but still very beautiful."
"Great clime, jaw dropping views. If your a beginner (like me) it's a tough clime but well worth the effort."
"Trail is rocky, hilly at first. After awhile it got less steep. Nice views, with easily marked trails. Small parking lot at base. We made it to the teepee and then some. Hike to Main summit was a bit too much with 4 kids and a dog and we turned around. Still beautiful scenery. Will come back again."
