"Trail was icy but worth the hike"
"Good workout for us two 70+ year olds. Rained the day before so the trail was slick higher up so stay off the mossy rocks. Great views at the top near lookout tower. We saw know one on the Fire Wardens trail on the way up but there were many hikers at the summit that used the other trails. 4.7 miles out and back with a 1,528 ft vertical, moderate hike."
"This is a beautiful fall walk. It’s a little tricky to find the start of the trail. Look for the Victorian yellow house. It’s a nice wide trail and well marked so not likely to get lost. Once at the top, it’s around a 1300 feet climb, the view is beautiful all around. The terrain is uphill, but not extremely steep. Pack water and a snack. Good for kids."
"A nice hike for our family (2 young adult sons). Not regular hikers but did summit and return in about 2.5 hrs at what was certainly not a fast pace. No views on the way up but great view at the top. At times only a gradual incline that felt like a walk and mid-way section more steep but not difficult if you're reasonably fit. We didn't have any bug problems but started at 7 am. Only met a couple folks, on way back down. Long enough to want to carry water."
"Went in spring. Trails are easy to follow but very icy. Took about 3 hours to get to the summit. About 1.5 hours to come back down. Saw a lot of birds, turkies and a porcupine. I wish the trail markers had info about where on the trail you were."
