"It's a nice place and very scenic. The eagles weren't in the nest last I visited. I enjoy the trail and listening to the Kennebec River flow by. Bring mosquito spray in summer and fall."
"Beautiful spot alongside the kennebec river. There are some stones with just a little bit of the history regarding colonialism and the events that took place on what was once indigenous peoples land."
"Very peaceful easy walking trail not very long but has very nice views of the Kennebec river with many opportunities for water access/fishing there are also 2 very large bald eagle nests along the trail within a mile of each other which is very rare to be so close together I assume due to the abundance of food source from the river. There are also may granite kiosks with interesting information in regards to the history of the town of Norridgewock it appears as though several years back it was a well maintained state park with several granite picnic tables and grilling areas but since then has been neglected."
"I used to love this trail but not anymore. I'm gonna be 110% honest when I say that I don't think y'all know what you're getting yourself into when you enter the trail. What I witnessed that day, was the creepiest, disturbing thing I've ever seen. It'll put the fear of God right in you. Me and my friend were hiking in the trail when things got dead silence. An eerie chil went up my spine and a strong fowl scent kept following us as we moved forward. Eventually we decided to get out of the trail. There were no other people around and no new tracks or anything. But I saw a fresh live heart organ still pumping blood. It immediately got my friend freaked out and I felt like I was going to pass out in fear. When I reached out to grab my phone to take a picture of it I heard quick rustling in the bushes maybe 5 feet away from the heart. I couldn't see anything but I heard something like a growl or some noise that kept getting closer to me so I ran off without any trace of the organ since. These woods are incredibly dangerous if you ask me."
"Nice pine forest trail, with historical markers and access to the river. Entrance is not marked at all, so look for a row of stones, park, and dive in."
