"Ordered a custom piece from these folks. After asking several times for an estimate, got numbers thrown at me in no particular order with no real conclusion. Put down what is a hefty deposit for me ($250+), after being told that the pieces would be "more or less" in that price range. Once the pieces arrived, I was told I owed another $180+ and when I went to pick them up, it was another $200+ ("oh, yeah, there's sales tax on part of the order, but not this part of the order, but yeah, there's tax on it." What?) Never offered a written estimate (and buyer beware, I'll _never_ make the mistake of trusting a non-written one ever again). I brought the stones to the transaction and still the pieces cost more than what I would expect to pay for ones off the shelf. I'm tremendously sad I cannot use them any more, because I prefer to work with a small shop on several other custom pieces I would like made."

This store has the largest selection of watermelon tourmaline I have seen. I also trusted Annette to sell us a piece that was authentically Maine. "I bought a pair of Maine tourmaline earrings at R.D. Allen's last year. They quickly became a favorite of mine right up until the day I lost one. I contacted the store to see if a replacement was possible. I spent lots of time consulting with Annette before deciding upon having the remaining stone made into a simple, yet stunning, ring and purchasing new tourmaline posts. She has a great eye and is a delight to work with. The shop offers a wide selection of Maine tourmaline jewelry. It's a treat to linger there.
