"My wife received a Talbots sweater as a gift and it happened to be too small for her. i work in Freeport, so i brought it in for an exchange and the clerk told me that it needed to be returned to a retail store. Confused, I asked what that store was and she said "an outlet". She refused to take the return because "they did not have that product in stock". That is the poorest service I've ever experienced. now we need to travel 25-ish miles farther south to make the transaction. What a total joke."

"Rude manager; very helpful sales associate. I take my mom there every couple of months to shop because she likes the fit. My mom is in her late 80’s and uses a walker. The associate was extremely attentive and respectful of my mom’s needs; my complaint is with the manager (supervisor?) who took over to ring up the sale. We purchased items but needed to order something - this woman appeared to be in a bad mood as her attitude was short and unfriendly. She was rude when answering my mom’s questions, and the kicker was when she called the neighboring store in Kittery to charge send an item she spent several minutes laughing and chatting with that associate on the phone about personal stuff while my mom stood there awkwardly and uncomfortably waiting, then went back to being curt with my mom! I’ve had 20+ years in retail mgmt and that was an experience I would have called a “training opportunity “ for sure. Didn’t feel the respect"
"I like this store. The staff was very helpful. However, when I realized I needed a different size I was disappointed to find that the Talbot's closer to me could not exchange outlet buys. So I now need to drive 2.5 hours to make the exchange."
