"Something has gone terribly wrong at this medical establishment that once epitomized the utmost in medical service and care. Referrals are ignored, phones go unanswered, form letters are generated in which the office claims to have attempted to reach the patient and threatens that failure to return those calls could lead to a delay in care when in fact no calls were ever received. On the rare occasion you can get through to someone to set up an appointment, they tell you they are booking out five months but can’t make an appointment at the current time and ask that you call them back in a few weeks. Very strange and unsettling. Today, I called twice and the phone rang endlessly both times. When I meet with my referring doctor next week I will ask for a referral to another group."

"Been a patient at this facility since 2019 have an extensive G.I. history. Called because I was having troubling symptoms. They told me it would be a six month wait. I am a nurse myself, know the issues around Prior Authorizations for ins etc. my PCP sent the referral but still not good enough. They need a “work up” before even scheduling a consult with my own GI doc. That I am CURRENTLY a patient with. I literally have never seen such poor quality service. How about triaging and placing appointments based on acuity like every other facility manages to do. I will be transferring my care someplace else."

"I've had such a rough time trying to find a health care professional who would really listen and be willing to do additional tests/exams to help me find relief. The difference between those other places and Portland Gastroenterology Center is Night and Day. The staff were so welcoming, kind, and helpful. I truly felt heard, seen, and valued. Everyone was very concise and made sure to answer all of my questions. For the first time in over a year I feel hopeful and there's no price you can put on that."

"Great experience here. I had an endoscopy done with Dr. Grunwald and it was a quick and easy process. The paperwork and signing in took longer than everything else. The nurses were great. They provided excellent service and made me feel safe and comfortable. Everyone answered all of my questions. When I left I was told that they could call me or I could call them to check in the following day. Overall great and pain free experience. Thank you all for the excellent service!"

"I had a very positive experience with Portland Gastroenterology Center this morning. I was a little worried after reading other reviews, but I was very satisfied with the whole process. My doctor recommended a colonoscopy and sent in a referral. Portland Gastroenterology contacted me within a few weeks to schedule an appointment. They informed me that appointments were being scheduled around 4 months out, but they checked the schedule and found a cancellation and I was able to get one in two months. They sent me the prep instructions around 3-4 weeks before my appointment. The staff were all very friendly and informative and I was in and out in about an hour and a half. It was a professional environment and I felt comfortable in their care while I was there."
