Reviews
"Wonderful caring office."
"Dr McLarney is a wonderful provider but it's too bad those who run her office don't know the meaning of Customer Service. I saw Dr. McLarney in July 2020 for a knee issue and she was very thorough with her explanations and answered all my questions giving me a lot of good information. She truly seemed to care. My poor review has absolutely nothing to do with her as a provider - for that I would give 5 stars. I left her office with a plan of care. Fast forward... I have had nothing but horrid experience with different folks that work in the office. I had called the office 4-5 weeks ago inquiring about proceeding with an injection the doctor and I talked about back in July which requires authorization from my health insurance and was told they were going to take care of that and we scheduled an appointment which is coming up in 4 days. I received a call last week from someone in the office telling me that they were just starting the authorization process that day (at least 2 weeks after I was told they were taking care of it). When I asked why they were just doing so now, that the woman I had spoken to 2-3 weeks prior said she was taking care of it, she said she didn't know, asked me who I spoke with (which I didn't) and apologized and also said that most likely my upcoming appointment would have to be rescheduled due to the time it takes for these authorizations. I expressed that I am very uncomfortable and waiting even longer because someone didn't do what they said they were going to do was frustrating. She apologized again and we hung up. Fast forward another week or so and I receive a call from Alex in Dr McLarney's office telling me that I need to call CVS Specialty Pharmacy with my demographic information in order to keep things moving along with my Rx authorization. She gave me the # for the pharmacy and after being on hold for 28 minutes, the woman I spoke with said that the prescription still hadn't been authorized, that she needed my insurance information (why hadn't the doctor's office provided this?) and asked me questions about the prescription that I didn't know, the doctor's office didn't provide any of that. After 40 minutes on the phone I was told they would get back to me in a day or two...3 days ago. Just today I saw 2 claims that were denied by my insurance and was told by the insurance company that the reason was because the facility hadn't sent in their re-certification to them. They suggested I call the doctor's office about this, asking them to send in the recertification. This is where this gets really bad...Kim, at the doctor's office answered the phone when I called and I provided my name and said why I was calling. Kim said "oh, yes! Our accounts payable was puzzled by that. What did they say?" I told her about the recertification and she said she didn't know anything about that. She then told me she will look into it to which I responded that I wasn't real confident that would happen and started to explain why (reasons spelled out above in this review) and she cut me off VERY rudely and said "I don't appreciate you calling me a liar..." I continued to try to explain why I wasn't confident this would happen and she cut me off again and asked "then why are you calling?" and when I tried yet again to get a word in edgewise she said "I told you I would look into this". I then said that I didn't appreciate her cutting me off and her response ever so unprofessional was "well, I don't appreciate YOU cutting ME off!". At that point, rude or not, I hung up. I have never been treated SO disrespectfully by a dr's office or any office for that matter. Kim doesn't know my situation and didn't care to. I moved up here from MA and am battling a very uncomfortable knee issue and need care. I am not a person to hang up on people or write scathing reviews but this journey has been truly frustrating for me and I wanted to share my experience. I am now at square one again. UPDATE: 10/8/20 - Received a call from Clinical Director and am happy to say that I was heard and she appeared to care. Changed to 3 stars."
