"It’s hard to even put into words how bad my experience was at this office. Dr Jacobsen himself is a very sweet and caring man but unfortunately the administrative staff here are the worst I’ve ever experienced in the healthcare industry. My first five visits I never even met Dr Jacobsen. I’d be see by one of the nurses - a different one every time - who’d ask me 30 mins of questions I had already answered on the previous visits. I had blood work done one visit and specifically told the nurse and the front desk that we wanted the gender to be a surprise - I even checked and signed a box that stated this on the form - yet of course the gender was sent to me in an email two weeks later. I went into the office and told them what happened and they barely bat an eye - they told me mistakes happened sometimes and I just got unlucky. It was finally time for my 20 week appointment - the appointment where they do a full ultrasound and physical and check every part of the baby. I’d been looking forward to it for a month and had my mom and my husband fly in for the appointment. When I showed up to the office that day (after they’d sent me about 10 reminder emails and texts), they all looked around at each other at the front desk and then went to the back room to talk. They came out and told me they’d forgotten to schedule an ultrasound technician for me and I’d unfortunately have to wait 6 weeks for the next available appointment. I was devastated. I tried to be patient and understanding with everyone there but the lack of upkeep with basic patient charts and their inability to keep appointments time and time again got to be too much. I finally transferred over to Mass General (which took weeks because I was already 20 weeks along and it was nearly impossible to get a new OB at that point) and I’ve now had three appointments there and it’s night and day. I hate to post a terrible review for such a kind doctor and I know he’s trying but I just wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless it’s your last possible resort."

"Dr Jacobson was so great with me. Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks, and he was very comforting, loving and caring. He knew the right words to use when explaining the situation and when I had to do the procedure he was very gentle. I recommend him and his office 100%. Oh and Lorna is a sweatheart."

"I have had six children and all have been delivered by either Dr. Jacobson or Lorna McCarthy. I have referred family and friends to this practice for over twenty years. My daughters now attend this practice as well. I have so much faith in these providers and would not go anywhere else. I had multiple high risk pregnancies and everyone in the office had led them with ease and confidence. Moving on in my years, post child bearing, I continue to go to this practice for all of my gynecology needs. I simply would not go anywhere else. They have become friends. I love them like family."

"Dr. Jacobson and Lorna nurtured my wife through her first pregnancy (twins) and were so incredible that when our son came along she wouldn't even consider another OB, even though we had moved further away. The other reviews are right; Dr. J makes you feel like you're the only patient in the world. He's warm, funny, calm and supremely competent. He stayed long after his shift had finished to see our twins through to delivery. Lorna is also the best. What a team!"

"Dr. Jacobson and Lorna McCarthy are wonderful the entire staff is as well. They make you feel extremely comfortable and are always ready to answer any questions or explain procedures. I had my first son with them and I developed gestational diabetes and high blood pressure during my pregnancy they set me up with the diabetes clinic which is in the same building and when I did have my son it was an unscheduled c-section on xmas eve-let's just say I 100% recommend them!"
