The Latino Health Insurance Program

The Latino Health Insurance Program, located at 88 Waverly Street in Framingham, Massachusetts, is dedicated to providing assistance in applying for medical coverage and offering follow-up services. As DTA SNAP providers, we offer outreach and enrollment for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly known as food stamps) as well as the Path to Work program, which includes ESL classes, computer training, and health education for individuals interested in becoming health coaches.

Our services also include assistance in applying for Masshealth, SNAP, MSP, Extra Help, and Lifeline for Medicare recipients. We offer a Cancer Prevention Series with classes focusing on Breast, Cervical, Colorectal, and Prostate Cancer for individuals aged 40-64.

Additionally, we provide a 6-week curriculum addressing various topics related to living with and managing chronic illnesses. Our workshops are effective in providing mutual support and techniques for dealing with symptoms such as diabetes, fatigue, and pain.

The Latino Health Insurance Program also operates a Diabetes Prevention Clinic, offering care management and coordination for individuals with diabetes or prediabetes to reduce complications and unnecessary emergency room visits. Our founder and executive director, Dr. Milagros Abreu, has a post-doctoral training in Epidemiology and is committed to reducing barriers faced by minorities in accessing healthcare.
