"I was so fortunate to experience Boothbay harbor for the first time at the helm house, what a perfect location for a restful weekend away! The house is so comfy and historic but has everything you could ever need. It is just steps from shopping, restaurants and the water, everything is right there. My favorite was just sitting on the rooftop deck and taking in the views and seeing the water out the window when when I woke up in the morning. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!!!"

The owners have done a gorgeous job of remodeling and interior design, creating a very comfortable home with modern amenities. This was accomplished while still maintaining the charm of the house, giving homage to its origin in history. One can’t help but feel the owners intent to give their guests the best possible vacation experience while enjoying all that Boothbay Harbor and surrounding areas have to offer. "Just returned from a wonderful stay at The Helm House in BBH. The House is beautiful, the location is perfect, being just a short walk to town, and the water views are amazing! Just walking into the house, we could feel the warmth, love and attention to detail that Sarah and Matt have invested into this property. It had all the amenities we needed and then some! "To give some background (which is quite romantic), a guest's husband wanted to send hand-dipped chocolate covered strawberries and champagne to his wife for a special occasion that they wouldn't be together for. I contacted Sarah, the owner of The Helm House. Knowing nothing about the area or where I would even begin, I left her a message. She called me back within minutes, made some phone calls, and was able to find a local business owner that took the order for my same day request. Not only did she get right to work on the strawberries, but she also hand selected a fine champagne and personally delivered it to the house. The beyond superior attention that I received from Sarah and a local business owner when not even personally being a guest, blew me away!!! I am so impressed that I am looking into booking a trip to stay at this property and take in all of the world-class amenities that The Helm House and Boothbay Harbor have to offer. Stay tuned...if my visit is anything comparable to my already amazing experience, I will be requesting that Google offer a 10-star review!!!"

"Stayed at The Helm House with a friend this fall, and I can honestly say it was one of the nicest places I have had the pleasure to stay. The house itself is simply beautiful, inside and out. A huge wrap-around porch, as well as a large, brand new widow's walk atop the roof provide both privacy and gorgeous views of Boothbay Harbor. Inside, the decor is the perfect blend of elegant and welcoming, with several different areas to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, conversation, or a good book. Incredibly, the owners have thought of everything to make our stay perfect: from a supply of device chargers, to everything you'd need to make yourself a nice drink when you arrive (you only need to bring the alcohol)! The living area is large with ample seating for larger groups. The kitchen is a great space with everything you will need for your upscale experience, whether you are making coffee or dinner. Upstairs, the bedrooms are beautiful, classy, and very comfortable with stunning views, plenty of closet space, and wonderful natural lighting. Both bathrooms are super clean and feature charming little accents that just put this place over the top in quality. On top of all of that, the location can't be beat. Located just a few steps away from the highest point in Boothbay Harbor, you will feel like you are on top of the world. The surrounding town is filled with everything anyone could wish for, from top grade sushi, gorgeous walks, and a working New England harbor, to quaint shops, fresh seafood (including the largest oysters on the half shell I have ever seen), ice cream, and a rich local history, all waiting for you to enjoy. Staying at The Helm House is like life in a postcard. You will seriously want to come back again and again."
