"This definitely should not be listed as an award-winning Hotel. They charge over $200 a night, and it was definitely not worth that much money. The rooms are incredibly small. The walls are paper thin and we were kept up all night by somebody playing their TV right next to our heads. The sink in the bathroom does not drain there was a giant crack in the bathtub. All the like metal towel racks and everything were rusted off. If you just want to place to sleep for a night good luck. I will not be staying there again because it was way too expensive for what you got. The only positive was Megan the housekeeper who was an amazing Ray of sunshine. She's deserves to work someplace much better."
"My family of four visited Boothbay for the Gardens Aglow night at the botanical gardens. Overall we were pleased with our stay at Flagship Inn. When we first arrived we were welcomed kindly by who I believe was the owner. When we arrived at our room we walked into a decently sized room (for the price). Two twin size beds, mini fridge, little flatscreen television, a nice table, and a small bath with a shower/tub and tiny toilet, there is a door separating the shower and toilet from the sink. Customer service was great and there was little to no hassle for check-in, BUT I will say I have a couple critiques. Firstly, the pillows were quite uncomfortable. I woke up with some neck pain, nothing severe but it’s less than desirable. Second, As we were winding down for bed I figured I’d find something to put on the small flatscreen. Unfortunately the ONLY things that worked on the remote were the power button, volume, and mute. As you would believe that’s very frustrating when you don’t just want to watch college football from the guide menu. Lastly, the sink drain would not work. We had to remove the drain plug because the lever wouldn’t do anything. I know these are minor issues but they contributed to this not being a 5-star experience. Something I was very impressed with was the free continental breakfast. At $119 for one night in a two bed motel room I was not expecting breakfast to be provided. There is a very nice “Flagship Restaurant” With several tables and booths. My rating of the food is 7/10, The pancakes were a bit flavorless but the eggs were nice. The milk may have been a bit past date so didn’t finish cereal but it is what it is. Location has got zero sightseeing but I’ve gotta say it’s in a nice spot. A couple minute’s drive from downtown, with gas stations and convenience stores within walking distance. I would stay here again and probably recommend to a friend. The three star overall review is due to me being hard to please and a tough reviewer. Thanks to the guys at Flagship for a good stay. Attached below are a couple pics of the garden and a view of the ocean (we had to drive to see, this is not a view from the motel)."
"When I arrived I was hopeful as the lobby was decently maintained and the staff was friendly. The room was dirty, someone else’s pizza was left in the microwave. The tv was unplugged and didn’t work after plugging it in, the sheets looked as if they hadn’t been washed. Wrinkly and slept in looking. Not to mention that the doors didn’t have a secondary security lock on them which in my experience is a standard safety precaution."
"my room smelled musty, out dated with original mold/infested rug and original wallpaper decor. Definite health concern for anyone especially compromised immune systems. They are updating some rooms but fail to disclose the worst of them. Location is not convenient for walking into town. Busy road ,hill and need to cross for sidewalk. Felt ripped off paying $240 a night. Plenty of cute places to stay in the heart of town. This is not a good start for the new owners."
"Nice little place in a nice location. Close to town makes it quick and easy to navigate, location off main road is much quieter than anticipated. We enjoyed a few walks through the adjacent Penny Lake Preserve, and ice cream after from the cute little shop right in the parking lot. The breakfast offerings include a couple hot options, plus standard continental things. Nothing spectacular, but decent enough for a quick start."
