"You've never heard of Phippsburg or the 1774 Inn? That's exactly how you want it. This small, historic inn on BEAUTIFUL property right along the Kennebec River is the perfect spot for weddings of any size, but truly the best for a small group of 30-40 of your closest friends and family. From the moment my now-wife and I walked through the barn (with tables and chairs still arranged from the previous night's wedding) out to the view of the lawn and river, we knew this was our spot. Then, we took the rest of the tour and learned all about the history and enjoyed the enthusiasm that Stuart, one of the owners, had for the Inn. Fast forward 14 months of planning, made SO much more pleasant and less stressful by Marianne Vold (our planner and Inn whisperer), and we had a day light-years better than we could even dream about. Marianne's insights into other celebrations of all shapes and sizes were invaluable, and her regular check-ins helped us feel at ease and excited to be getting married at the Inn. Her own excitement for the Inn and our weekend really shined when our guests arrived for the weekend on Thursday (the value of having the whole weekend here cannot be understated) and showed them around. Having Sarah and Stuart stop by to say hello was a nice touch at the end of the night, and the neighbors shooting off fireworks added even more magic. We can't wait to go back and visit & spend another night (or more) in the Hayloft Suite. For the grooms reading this: They've got every kind of coffee maker you can think of, the room you'll be staying in has A/C, and even in August it was cool enough at night that not having A/C in every room wasn't a problem for everyone else. There's cornhole and a fire pit, and you can bring a food truck. Oh, and go watch Blow The Man Down on Amazon Prime."

"Our daughter had a clear vision of what she wanted her wedding to be. We toured many places. Upon our first visit to the 1774 Inn the perfect wedding vibe was evident. Stuart is a great host and was completely engaged in the most positive and passionate way from the moment we first walked onto this amazing property to the very last moment of the weekend. The bridal suite is amazing, the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, the Kitchen was fully stocked with multiple refrigerator's and freezers, the library was the perfect setting for the groom and groomsman. Tour this place and the peaceful beauty, the facilities are evident but until you experience the entire weekend it would be hard to imagine how passionately engaged the owners are through the entire weekend to make sure the vibe is elevated to meet the setting and any glitches like weather issues for example are handled stress free with grace."
