"Stayed here in late November for my birthday. Wife ordered the package with dinner and breakfast included. The food was so delicious! I would return just for that. However, having a winter birthday, I thought their outdoor pool was the coolest thing - no pun intended, as the pool was heated. Never before done something like that! The photo is a view from inside the pool. It was great to be outside, but warm, in the pool, and enjoy such tranquil scenery. The accommodations were also great, from being recently renovated (so my wife said). I would recommend anyone consider staying here for a nice getaway!"
"We stayed here for two nights over the Thanksgiving holiday. While the staff and food was lovely, we were shocked to wait over 1.5 hours for our Thanksgiving meal reservation and over 40 minutes for our breakfast reservation. I was with a young child and it was a rough go. There was no warning provided so we could stay in the room and wait. The estimated seating time was also grossly underestimated. We are new to the area and had hoped to make a stay at this hotel a yearly Thanksgiving tradition. After that experience, I’m scared to go back!"
"I stayed at this hotel for two nights since I saw that it was close to some good hiking spots in the White Mountains. While the hotel itself is lovely, I had a bad experience as a single person dining at the Ledges Restaurant. For those who aren’t familiar, there is a massive window that overlooks the mountains in the dining area. I made a reservation for 5:45 on a Wednesday evening, and the hostess sat me further away from the window. I noticed there were several tables open next to it, so I asked the waitress if I could move. She checked with the hostess and then told me that they couldn’t move me because the reservations were all laid out. However, I also had a reservation, and all of the tables were four-tops, the same size as the one I was sitting at. I wasn’t asked in advance where I wanted to sit, so it seemed peculiar that some tables were already assigned. When I left, there were still three open tables by the window. I felt frustrated because it seemed to me that they didn’t want to seat me there since I was dining alone. I returned to the restaurant the next morning and asked to speak to the manager, who wasn’t available. I told the hostess at the time what happened and she agreed that it was likely due to me being alone. I don’t appreciate being treated differently due to the fact that I was by myself, which it seems was the case here. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for anyone traveling alone. Side note — there are no microwaves/dishes in the room so you either have to eat at the restaurant or leave the hotel."
"Just came back from a 7-night stay and had a spectacular time. I was initially worried about booking here -- my husband and I have three young kids (ages 2, 4 and 6) and the hotel does not advertise as being family-friendly on their website as some other hotels in the area do. I was pleasantly surprised that there were a lot of families there, and that the staff treated us -- and our kids -- kindly, and we felt very welcome. The only part that felt adults-only was on Friday and Saturday nights at the restaurant -- there's a live piano player -- plays beautifully -- and it was clear that this was supposed to be a more upscale (read: no loud kids) kind of dinner. The hotel is beautiful inside and out -- fully renovated, with pantries on each floor with coffee and filtered water -- and the location is fantastic, just minutes to town and must-see stops like Echo Lake State Park and Diana's Baths, but with a completely secluded feel to it, like you're really getting away. Would stay here again!"
"We absolutely LOVED this property! The pool was a great way to end a day of adventure and there are even hiking trails at the back of the hotel. The tavern was hopping everynight with great service not to mention the housekeeping crew went above and beyond. Each floor is fully equipped with a pantry which was an amazing added feature and every hotel should have! The decor, rooms, all the staff, location, restaurant, lounge, outdoor space is all phenomenal. I would recommend this property any day."
