"I've been bringing my small motor machine repairs here for years. They're consistently accurate diagnosing things, friendly, and relatively inexpensive. They've repaired my lawnmowers, snowblower, generator, DR push trimmer, and probably a few other things I've forgotten. [additional info: I just read the one star review, and I have to say that Al has been consistent in diagnosis for me, and I don't think he purposefully turns people away. He has told me a few times that a particular machine can be replaced for a reasonable amount and that a repair would be cost ineffective. I've taken apart a lawnmower he said that about, and found that he was right in his diagnosis (I used it for parts). I realize that the one star reviewer had an experience that really got under his skin and has every right to report that. I just wanted to put in my 2 cents]"
"A small, local and HONEST repair shop for your yard equipment needs. I've purchased mowers, blowers and weedwackers here and will always go back for the maintenance and repair work. It's hard to find ETHICAL repair people these days, so when you do, you keep them in business the best you can!"
"Ok this might take a second but I need to explain. First I brought a snowblower to Al about 6 years ago because the carb needed fixing. well he thought it needed an engine so he replaced my engine with a used one at a cost of over 3 hundred dollars. Not good. I figured I would give him one more shot seeing how he was the only one near me that would look at is now. So I bring him a Cub Cadet 933-swe. this is an 1800 dollar machine. its a beast. I brought it down to get some things tightened up and get the belt on straight. He called me the next day and said that the main auger bearing was shot and it was not cost effective to fix it. Now I really thought that was weird because how does he know what I think is to much ? Anyway I went to the shop to pick it up and we spoke for a second and I told him that I was going to give it a shot to replace the bearing. I asked him how long it would take me He replied " 2 hours maybe 3 if it's rusted in there ". I thought what ? 2 hours? why didn't he just fix it? I got to the machine today. broke it down and found what he meant about the bearing. The bearing is fine, There is a collar that is held by 2 set screws that holds the bearing in place. I found that the screws had loosened and moved the collar loosening the bearing. I moved the collar closer , tightened the screws and all is good now. took me 1/2 hour to find the problem that he discussed with me. There are a couple of other things that I am going to do to the machine while i have it in half, but all in all it is good to go. I find it funny that someone that works on power equipment does not want to work on power equipment. when i went in and dropped my snowblower off i figured it would cost me about 3 hundred dollars to get it squared away. I was shocked when he told me it was basically junk. I thought that's impossible. He just did not want to work on it so he came up with an excuse to send me away. that is disgusting. I will never use his services again and I will never recommend anyone go there EVER."
"Needed my snowblower fixed urgently and Al got it done super fast and very reasonably priced. Outstanding service and super nice guy. Highly recommended!!!"
"Searching for a replacement snowblower auger belt. Alnor did not have it, but staff took much time conducting cross reference and making suggestions. Appreciate their good nature and willingness provide assistance even thought a sale was not made."
