"Scales simply never disappoints! With so many great seafood options this is a must try in Portland. Everything was spectacular and I especially enjoyed the scallop entree. The menu is filled with great options from amazing dinner rolls, full raw bar and a large selection of land or sea entrees. Really no complaints as everything was spectacular. Coming back very soon to try more!"

"What an amazing experience! The food was great and service was excellent - shout-out to our waiter and the manager for being so helpful. The restaurant has a great atmosphere too for any occasion, but the price is actually very reasonable for a Portland restaurant. Highly recommend and I will definitely come back!"

"My husband and I enjoy eating out. I feel like many will agree that most of our “free” money ends up being spent on food. We’ve been blessed with the opportunity to travel and eat in some amazing restaurants so please believe me when I tell you that this was the most amazing food I’ve ever had. I’ve had oysters on both sides of the country but the North Haven oysters served tonight were the sweetest oysters I’ve ever had. They had the most amazing brine, like they were just plucked out of the cleanest salt-water. The octopus?? So often restaurants overcook it the point of being chewy. Here?? I could cut through it with my fork. Not a fan of clam chowder, but my husband absolutely lost his mind over it and even I have to admit it was one of the most flavorful soups ever. The scallops were the highlight of my meal, served with thick chunks of bacon and the earthiest mushrooms. The scallops were incredibly buttery, falling apart in my mouth while maintaining the most satisfying bite. My husband had the duck. Flavorful and tender, with the crispiest skin and a thin layer of fat. Whoever prepared it, obviously put a lot of thought into the dish. Service was fantastic, we made a reservation and were seated right away even though we arrived 20 minutes early and the restaurant was packed. We’re not from Portland and we don’t have any reason to come back here, but this restaurant is worth the trip from Denver alone. Worth every penny."

"Incredible. Reservations book up two months out, so be prepared. Wife and I had our anniversary Dinner at Scales. We sat at the bar. We had the Anadama Bread, Salt Cod Croquettes, Oysters, Pan Roasted Halibut and Seared Scallops. All were prepared perfectly and came out fast and hot. I could go on and on, but just give it a try yourself! If you’re a fan of Fore Street, you’ll love the restaurant that the locals don’t want you to know about!"

"The food was absolutely amazing. We had 14 people in our party and there were no complaints at all. The only downside was, due to such a large group, we had to be separated at two large tables across from each other. We were told it was due to safety, but then we noticed a group larger than ours that were all sitting together. Not sure where the disconnect happened. Regardless, you will not he disappointed with the food and server recommendations."
