"The food is amazing. We had a burrata and the pancetta arancini. The arancini is a must! For the main course we tried the shrimp and the Bolognese pastas. Both very tasty and cooked to perfection. Service was just normal. Not bad, but not outstanding."
"We came for dinner to celebrate our anniversary, and we had an amazing experience here! The wait staff was incredibly thoughtful, and had a card with the sweetest message for our celebrations waiting at the table when we arrived. We ordered the sourdough, and the house made butters they provided were amazing!! My husband enjoyed his drink he ordered, even the ice was classy. Our waitress was awesome, and the perfect balance of checking on us and giving us some privacy to enjoy dinner. We ordered the risotto and the vodka lumache, and both were incredible! We ended the night with some lemon sorbetto, which was the perfect touch for a perfect dinner. Thank you Via Vecchia!!"
"Visiting from out of town and wanted to try a local Italian restaurant. This place absolutely blew my mind. The atmosphere was incredible, and the food was out of this world. We had the chicken and the risotto. It was fantastic. I would recommend anyone thinking about going here to try it out."
"This place exceeded my expectations. I have been wanting to go here for years and I was afraid that they were going to let me down. They absolutely did not and they pay attention to detail. I had stated in our reservation that it was our first wedding anniversary, and upon arrival they had a little card for us. Nice touch. The space itself is visually stunning. The front part of the restaurant is cozy, with natural light from the windows spilling in and the bar is luxurious and spacious. The back part feels more like you’re in a Mediterranean restaurant and the tall ceilings combined with the dark decor makes you feel welcome and at ease. We loved it. We had several drinks. The ingredients and different liquors that they use create amazing flavors that you’ve never tasted before. We sampled most of the Negroni passport and they all tasted amazing. All of the food was to die for. Fills that Mediterranean flavor void. We had whipped ricotta, arancini, carpaccio, and scallop crudo. The crudo was by far our favorite, it was bright, briny and buttery. Our main dishes were equally as good as the small plates. We ordered Bolognese and Campanelle. Each were divine… but a little pricey. We didn’t care though. The campanelle has a bit of heat to it and the shrimp, sun dried tomatoes and crispy capers worked soooo well together. It was all perfectly cooked. (Drooling just typing this.) Also, our server was amazing. He was so attentive, very knowledgeable, patient, and professional. It was so refreshing to have good service somewhere. All and all, go here. It’s not an everyday dinner establishment but definitely a must for special occasions. Who am I kidding? If I lived in Portland, I’d go broke for this place. Cin Cin!"
"Unfortunately, our experience was heavily impacted by our orders never being entered into Via Vecchia's system, which resulted in us waiting over an hour until the waitress figured out the problem. Once we actually got our food - everything was fine but not particularly impressive. The interior and exterior decorations were very nice though and I enjoyed the drinks we tried."
