"Fantastic place to get sushi. Prices are reasonable, the fish is fresh, and the atmosphere is top notch. Whenever I go out for sushi with my friends this is the place we go. I've never had a bad experience. My biggest complaint is that I can never decide which roll is my favorite!"
"Delicious Asian cuisine. My husband and I had sushi, pork buns, bento box all super yummy! I absolutely loved my pork buns so flavorful!! The decor could be slightly updated. Good customer service, prices were reasonable, beers are great. We will definitely return!"
"Good sushi, for very reasonable prices. The salmon was really good quality/flavor. Very fresh. The service was slow, and the place was un kept. Would I go here again? Probably not unless I lived on the street and it was super convenient or something like that. Their steamed buns were good. They come taco style with ginger, veggies, and either salmon for $9.95 or pork belly for $8.95. Expect to pay $10-$15 a roll. They have good specials, and make sure to take a picture of the special board when you walk in. The waitress was a little hard to understand, and I am usually really good with accents. Mochi is $6 and comes with two pieces cut in half with whipped cream on top. I wouldn't order it again. Edemame is $6. The menu pictures they have online are outdated, and prices have more than doubled. The bathroom was really bad. Kid friendly: 1/5 only getting one star because they have booths, besides that, they have no changing table, no children's menu, no appropriate boosters. Not kid friendly. Accessibility ♿️: 1/5 not good wheelchair appropriate entrance or bathrooms. However, the booths and tables are a good height. The walkways are not large enough. The take-out area is in the back, and the counter is standing height."
"Pretty shocked at how poor the food was prepared and put together. Burnt dumplings, fish wasn’t fresh and sloppily rolled. I live up the street so figured I’d finally give them a whirl and will say some of the poorest restaurant / food take out I’ve seen to date. Save your money or go elsewhere."
"Oh no. This was terrible — like, REALLY terrible. We ended up at King of the Roll because we had a show in downtown Portland and every other place nearby had a long wait. It was either King of the Roll or skipping dinner, and in retrospect, skipping dinner would’ve been better. The only good thing about this place was the service. The food was awful. Where do I even begin? The Yaki Udon with chicken consisted of soggy noodles, tasteless vegetables, and 2-3 small pieces of chicken. For $15, we were expecting a much bigger portion and a dish that tasted better than whatever we ate. As soon as it came out, I knew it was not going to be a good experience…, and everything went downhill from there. My partner’s Tonkatsu Don (breaded pork) was so bland. He had to drown his food in soy sauce to taste anything. Speaking of bland, the gyozas we ordered as an appetizer were extremely bland, too. Given that everything was just horrible, we ordered one sushi roll mid-dinner. Maybe the food was terrible because we didn’t order sushi at a place called King of the Roll? Well — the sushi didn’t save the night; it actually made it worse. The sushi was falling apart and consisted of cooked fish that did not taste fresh with a piping hot sauce on top. You could tell that the sauce had just been microwaved. It was disgusting. All in all, of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in a very long time."
