Bike Boom

"Other than friendly interactions with the mechanics, i didn't have a great experience with bike boom. I went to them with squealing disc brakes. The sales person wasn't the person working on the bike. They initially said it would be a day to repair, it took almost a week and several phone calls. They kept changing what they recommended and what they recommended ended up being out of stock. (They also kept saying it probably needed a full replacement, that the callipers were probably broken) They pressured me into replacing the disc and pads saying they couldn't return the bike in the condition it was in, saying it was unsafe (they had done no work at that point). They also insisted that the disc couldn't be saved. I finally agreed to their suggestions and the replacement disc was not good. And within days it was squealing again. I called within days of getting the bike back, the disc performance was bad and it was squealing. They said they would get back to me after checking for parts. They called over a month later saying "oops i forgot you, do you still want us to look at it?" No. I do not. 6 months later i had another shop look at it. The problem was a simple screw replacement in the brake line. Fluid from the stripped screw contaminated the pads. I got my old high-quality disc remounted. Paid for new pads and screw. Problem solved. The work BB did was a complete waste of money. My gut said to just pull my bike and go to a different shop. I should have listened. I wouldn't have wasted almost 200 bucks."

"I got a tune up and flat tire repair at the same time. Took 9 days to get back the bike back over the Thanksgiving holiday. The tune up was great, bike rides really well now. However the next ride I took on the bike the same tire popped. The tire repair was ~50$"

"The Bike Boom team is extremely helpful and efficient. Came here for a tune up last year and again this month after I got a flat tire. They are helpful in showing you how things work, diagnosing the issue and keeping their cool (I had to go back for another flat today and they looked at it right away). Really appreciate their team and how much they help. Biking has become my main way of getting around so I am extra grateful to have a local bike shop I can turn to!"

"I've been here twice now - first time for a tuneup, and second time to fix a flat - and both times my experience has been great. Everyone I've interacted with here has been very knowledgeable, the work has been expedient, and the prices are very reasonable. I have an ebike, and the tuneup took about a week although they have a expedited service as well if you need your bike back faster. I have had my bike for less than a year and am a total beginner cyclist, but never felt intimidated or judged based on my lack of knowledge. And with my flat tire, I just walked in on a Friday afternoon and it was fixed in maybe 20 minutes tops for less than $50 including parts and labor. I love supporting local businesses when I can, and will definitely choose Bike Boom for anything bike related."
