"We've stayed here during Christmas 2023 for a ski vacation. The grouds are nice but not finished:everything is muddy and not enough outdoors lights. Our room was looking at the river, it was beautiful but the room itself was tiny. No room cleaning for the 4 days that we stayed there. We asked for fresh towels and didn't get.Hot water in the shower was barely enough for one person. No storage; no where to put our clothes. You can hear everything from the next rooms and hallway. Coming back to a tiny not clean room with all the winter mud was too much for us and we left a day earlier. Update: we got a phone call from the manager and she was very understanding and resolved our issues. I really appreciate the phone call and willingness to help."
"Stayed last night. Room was small and tight. Only instant coffee in room. Tea pot for instant coffee not located near an outlet - had to move to heat. Noisy bathroom fan cannot be turned off and runs continuously. Noisy fridge in room. You will hear people stomping in room above you - recommend a top floor room. No complimentary breakfast offered at this hotel. No hot water for shower - luke warm only. Heard other guests complaining about not having hot water, as well. Staff informed them, "It happens sometimes." Gorgeous location on river. Lovely fireplace by river. Nice indoor pool."
"If you're looking for luxury, skip it, that's not what you'll find here. But if you are constantly looking for small, high quality hotels, believe me, you will not be disappointed here. You will appreciate the attention to detail throughout their offering. The rooms are pretty with a touch of design as well as the common areas and what can we say about the incredible backyard bordered by a river. The welcome was impeccable. Our only downside is the lack of a quality espresso coffee maker."
"Talta Lodge was a slice of heaven! The rooms are so well appointed and comfortable! The sheets were so amazing that I ordered them for myself, and purchased the shower gel and shampoos! These small touches were so incredibly appreciated and made the experience rustic-luxury. I had coffee and tea in the room but the cozy lobby was equipped with a variety of teas and coffees, beer on draft, and several craft beverages. We loved the lounge space and spent a lot of time playing the board games provided. The best part was the gorgeous stream and seating outside. Our only regret was we couldn’t stay longer. The staff was incredibly friendly and kind. We will definitely be back and treasure our experience at Talta Lodge!"
"Beautiful location. On the main road, but set far back enough to not feel like it. Attractive grounds and decor. We had a lower level room facing the river with a patio. The stairs down to our wing were a bit treacherous, noticeable on the second night after hiking and sore muscles! As a result that wing would not be very suitable for someone with mobility issues. The hallway was very dimly lit, as well as the room... Only three small lamps. The bedding was luxurious with a plush comforter and pillows. There was some construction going on which wasn't mentioned on the website when we booked a couple of weeks earlier. There wasn't any related noise that we noticed, but some hay on the ground which we and our dog managed to track in every time we went outside from the sliders in our room despite our best efforts not to. There was a nice area with a waste bag receptacle to walk our dog. There was complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby. Unfortunately just milk, skim milk and half and half (we're vegan) to go with the coffee but fortunately a mini fridge in the room so we could store our own soy milk. There was a microwave in the dining area. There was a pop up Japanese Chef during the evenings, but no vegan options, so we did not partake/can't say how the food was. There was live music outside on the main patio right next to our room on Thursday night. We did not appreciate it, but a bunch of people outside seemed to. Fortunately it was only scheduled until 8:30, so we went for a walk. There was a hot tub outside and Adirondack chairs by the river and near a fire pit. The pool was located inside and looked clean and nice though we did not have a chance to go for a dip."
