"A few months passed, and finally I gathered my thoughts to write and save people from this choice. Living at Caldwell was the most horrible experience of my long life. What you are shown and sold is a wrapper that is very different from life itself and what you will see and encounter while living in Caldwell. This is endless dirt and cockroaches, a spitted elevator with sticky buttons, vandalism, garbage will be lying everywhere, dirty carpet, a pool with garbage that is not cleaned, a huge number of people from all over the area will come to your roof and to the pool, the coffee machine mostly does not work, because no one cleans it and you need to wait for the leasing employees to come and you need to go and persuade Solve the issue with the coffee machine. From Oxford Street, cars, including those of leasing employees, completely block the entrance to the building and the entrance to the parking lot, plus people who move in a wheelchair lived in the house, in my opinion, this is a huge disrespect for humanity. The building has been destroyed in several places because cars have entered the building several times and recently there was a shootout nearby, where two teenagers were killed, you can see it on the news, at the pedestrian crossing next to the building from Munroe Street, two people were knocked down, lying in a pool of blood and looked dead, I myself was almost hit there. There is a constant smell of marijuana in the apartment and smoke, the same thing is happening on the stairs and in the hallway, my child had attacks of suffocation and began to have a terrible allergy. The wind was blowing terribly through the windows, even the heating did not help, we were constantly sick with a cold with a high fever, we and our neighbors had discharged locks from the door and we simply could not leave the house, we were late for work while waiting for employees. The work schedule of leasing employees is not clear. Communication with leasing employees left a huge unpleasant aftertaste, it looked like discrimination. Our windows were "overlooking the ocean" as Caldwell claims, but in fact it would be more accurate to the parking lot and the railway, along which the train rushes and buzzes loudly, very loudly until night, my child every time he shuddered and was frightened, I had to calm him down for a long time. Our acquaintances lived with a "historical view", so they complained that they did not sleep at night, what noise they had in their apartments. At night, the fire siren often goes off several times. I ask the management of Greystar to pay attention and have a conversation with the employees of Caldwell, because you can't treat people like that, also when renting we encountered murky schemes of leasing employees and our new acquaintances from Caldwell also said that the leasing employees (Martha and James) deliberately created a conflict situation for them and forced them to pay a large sum of money, leading them to health problems. Friends, pay attention to the prices and area and I assure you, the price does not correspond to the quality of this accommodation. Also, for your money, you will be treated like an empty space and you will definitely not feel at home and even more so safe. We have something to compare it with. Good luck to everyone."
"The building itself is absolutely gorgeous. The design is spectacular for someone who works from home. I loved using the first floor conference room to work & enjoyed the rooftop in the summer. The coffee machine was hit or miss because it was always needing to be cleaned out of old pods. Probably got a coffee like 60% of the time I tried. Apartment was new, clean. Maintenance was pretty responsive. However, something is seriously wrong with the way the office is run. The first apartment I rented from them was suddenly unavailable AFTER I signed my lease. They posted an unavailable apartment online and didn’t pick up the phone to explain…….they just sent me an email. I stayed in my old apartment an extra month but only made an agreement with Caldwell after threatening to have a lawyer call the due to the breach of contract. They tried to match me into a downgraded apartment I didn’t want. AND, on move in day I had the police called on my moving truck because the office made no attempt to hold my “reserved” loading dock spot. They didn’t tow the car which was blocking our truck and I paid an extra 2.5 hours for the movers to sit around waiting for the truck to be moved. Dealing with the cops & irate neighbor was not welcome first day to the neighborhood. I expected some sort of reimbursement and never got it. Paid an extra $250 to pissed off movers & eventually the office stopped responding to my requests for reimbursement. My impression is: they don’t care or they are understaffed, maybe it’s both. But if you can steer clear of admin issues the building is nice."
"Living at Caldwell has been a very poor experience. The locks for front doors are battery powered and when we moved in it was low battery. Not soon after the battery died and we could not lock our door from the outside or unlock it. It took 3 days to hear back on our urgent service request and we had to cancel a trip because it was not safe to leave with our door unlocked. We had a problem with our washing machine making a buzzing sound for multiple days. We asked them to call when they eventually came to do the repair but they did not. When they did come they left a mess of drywall on the floor and because they did not reinstall the draining pipe, water got everywhere when we used it. They also come to apartment's without permission and no knock, I was walked in on just in my underwear. Thank god it wasn't my wife. There was no apology and nothing came of it. The customer service is very poor and the leasing employees are condescending and rude. Heally is the only one willing to help and is kind. There is no open spots for their VERY limited tenant Parking (although it's broken often) and the street parking is a nightmare. Constant tickets and towing. The building also tows cars in the back at random. They towed my car but not the van beside me costing me a couple hundred dollars to open a space for a moving company that did not even come. Repairs are expensive and no one can use elevators without fabs. That means guests and delivery drivers have to take the stairs and there's up to 10 floors in the building. There is dog urine often in the elevators and occasionally in the lobby, I have also seen someone's pet poop in there as well."
"Martha, the Asst Community Mgr,, is a gem. Some of the younger folks lack patience at times with the glitches that are bound to occur in any apartment building. James, the Community Mgr, organizes great events and is always helpful, too. Cam, Martha’s assistant in Leasing, is the best. My husband and I enjoy the diversity, amenities and high style."
"Apartment building is quiet & pet friendly! Which is good & bad.. some pet owners don't respect areas.. I love the petspa wash!!! The lobby & design is definitely upscale & hotel like! Free deluxe coffee in lobby ever am! I love the location! Right across street from the Train & buses! Definitely an upcoming neighborhood...some really nice new restaurants..authentic Mexican, Blue Ox right across the street! Love having a carport to unload! Very helpful! I'm still waiting to enjoy the rooftop pool...but the views are amazing! Luv the welcome bag with the goodies!!!! Very nice touch! Parking inside is a plus...a bit pricey but worth it.. With all that being said.. it still has its issues ....carpet pet urine issues ..parking big issue..garage across st is closing ...and new building issues..maybe do regular apartment checks... Very sad to see a beautiful building get ruined so quickly... they have been staying more on top of pet urine issues .maybe do regular carpet washing ..having said that ...its a quiet building..and we absolutely love our view! UPDATE** new office staff is amazing! On top of all n any issues!! Most issues getting resolved & great new residents! Things are getting much better. Carport parking issues they are in top of.. Love the rooftop herb garden also! Hope they get firepits working again! Photos below taken by MPL"
